Unlike the usual stories from the likes of The Sun saying either "Matt Smith to leave after Christmas" or "Matt Smith wants to be the Doctor for 30 years", this is based on comments by controller of BBC1 Jay Hunt. Of course, it turns out Jay Hunt is an idiot/rhyming slang: "The telling point for me was that first episode when Matt put the fishfinger into the custard and from that moment on I completely believed in him."
Still, I like the idea of Doctor Who being on in the Autumn months. It's darker and makes scary things scarier. On the downside, being scheduled against the awful-yet-popular-among-idiots Simon Cowell schlock might do for the show what being scheduled against Coronation Street did for the McCoy era.
