If You Could Remake One Game...

Blood_logo.jpg

A quirky old Doom clone that deserves a Doom 3 style makeover.

Caleb is one of the greatest FPS anti-heroes ever, and had some of the best one-liners in the genre. How can you not love an undead Old-West gunfighter who balks when told to 'Use' a sink, complaining: "I like my hands bloody!" Or who starts to sing show tunes when left idle too long?

 I loved Blood. The sequel wasn't quite as good but I still enjoyed it.

"I hate mimes."
"Get off my train!"
"Mmm... tastes like Kool-Aid."

 I forgot the mime.

One of my favourite lines comes early in the first level, when he enters the funeral parlour and snarls: "Open for business!"

I would love to see the weapons and monsters in that game redone with modern graphics. The flare gun alone would be worth the price of admission.

Another vote for Blood here. It was a lot of fun back in the day:)

Wing Commander..hopefully jumpstart the series again.

let's just pretend the movie never happened..the rest..GOLDEN

I don't know, I tend to think the Wing Commander games are products of their time. They're way too simplistic and linear for modern audiences.

Now, if we got a WC game that was open-universe, and you could be Confed military, civilian privateer, and choose from various other professions/alignments, it would be really cool.

But then it would basically be a Battlecruiser or Freelancer-type game. Or Privateer on steroids, maybe. I'm just not sure enough would be added to make it worthwhile.

^ A WC-Freelancer mashup sounds drool-worthy to me though  It would have to have Mark Hamill for the cut scenes, of course.

Streets of Rage 1. One of the best side scrolling fighter games of all time.

Indeed though I wouldn't want a re-make of the original just a 360 HD makeover .

I wouldn't say no to a Streets of Rage sequel based on the gameplay of number 1 in every way. The current sequels SUCK they changed well everything

I'd like to see the original Starflight games (1 and 2) remade. Those were my favorite "open universe" games as a kid, and they are still pretty good--they're just horribly dated, technology-wise.
I'd have to say these as well, or at least SF1. And technology-wise, I'm not so sure...graphics-wise yes, but tech-wise, the fractal generator used for the planets of the Starflight was ingenius and I think could still work.

But since you voted for them I'll also throw in Star Trek 25th/JR. Match that voice acting with modern graphics and decent ship combat...
