I don't understand why managers do that - pull a pitcher out of the game right before they have a chance to make a no-no. Joe Girardi did that with CC Sabathia once (think it was against the Rays).

Slowey was coming back from a tendinitis injury and he had thrown 106 pitches. That, and the Twins need him down the stretch. It was a health concern more than anything else, and IMO the right call.
Mets are trying to void Rodriguez's contract. Good luck with that considering the most powerful and corrupt union on the planet will be trying to claim that there is absolutely nothing in the MLBPA guidelines that specifically says it's wrong to beat up your girlfriend's father.![]()
