I'm fairly sure I've mentioned this before but is it just me or does Boston's manager look like Himmler with those glasses of his? A more muscular Himmler but Himmler none the less. Now I'm a Yankee fan but I do like the guy quite a bit having seen him interviewed a number of times so it's not an insult so much as an observation.

^ :guffaw:

I actually think Francona kind of looks like Dr. Bunsen Honeydew, but that one works too. Unfortunately the managers never hear the cheers otherwise we would use that in the bleachers. :D

Never thought of that but decent catch...

Gotta love Tito. There really is no reason to not like the guy even if you're a Yankees fan. Pure class all around, and one of the best managers in MLB.

Apparently you're not the first to suggest that Himmler looks like Francona. Link I can definitely see the resemblance.

The Reds pick up Jim Edmonds today in time to face the Cardinals on ESPN. This is going to be a huge series in the battle for the NL Central.

And... I'm interested to see just how much better the Astros are.

Mariners are probably the most incompetently-run baseball team with that high of a payroll. An absentee majority owner who has never been to a game and leaves a non-baseball mind in charge to run baseball operations.

The Mets are woefully incompetent with a high payroll, but they have a meddling owner.

Imagine what a reincarnated George Steinbrenner could do with the franchise

Nice to see Pelf returning to his early season form. I'd still take Jiminez any day of the week though.

The Twins are back on top of the AL Central after last night's home run derby against the White Sox. Hope they can keep it up.

I never had a problem with his hitting or fielding most of the time, but after he was pulled out of the game a couple of times after losing focus (one time he was actually trying to get the attention of the official scorer because he was charged with an error) I kind of lost respect for him.

He does have the best frosted tips in the majors, though.

Here you go Mets fans:

Mets closer Francisco Rodriguez was charged with third-degree assault late Wednesday night after scuffling with his father-in-law at Citi Field, police said.

I can't believe they only suspended him for 2 days. What a joke. You get more than that for punching another player, much less an older man.
