Unfortunately, that was too similar to what the cover artist for Indistinguishable From Magic had in mind.

In all honesty, who cares about the beard. Having a beard doesn't make it a momentous occasion in your life. Since I was able to grow one, I have changed facial hair styles many times. It doesn't really matter about the cover, Titan's Sword of Damocles had a nice picture of the Titan, but the story was dull.
