Seems like many people don't like "Move Along Home" episode. I kinda enjoyed it

On a final positive note .. as far as space stations go .. DS9 craps all over Babylon 5 ..
Oh hell! .. now all the B5 fanatics are going to go for my throat.

Perhaps the Magratheans built two copies?Ah, Miri's Planet.
I especially loved how there was absolutely no reason given in the episode itself for why the planet was an exact duplicate of Earth.
Seriously, what was the point?![]()

Well, if that's what you want...
DS9 vs B5 is an argument that's been done to death and is certainly not worth re-hashing here, but suffice it to say I strongly disagree. That's not to put down DS9, since it's a great show, but it can't match Babylon 5 for me.
It could be that the OP is someone who is outside of the United States or lives in a rural area where one does not have access to the DVD stores.I live in China
I'm glad I'm not the only one who found the Bajorans irritating. I wished they had done more with the Jem Hadar. There was so much potential there that wasn't followed up.
Not especially. Frankly, I think you're reading the situation incorrectly; I don't think there was a hostile reaction to your opinion of DS9, there was a hostile reaction to your use of torrents, and those things got confused. You know .. I was just thinking about some of the reactions to my O.P. I absolutely LOVE Voyager .. but if someone said me "Voyager is a bit boring" .. I really wouldn't bat an eyelid. It IS just a TV show after all... and they are entitled to their opinion. (Unless they live in China!) I'll be hitting 52 in October .. could that be why? Maturity?
Actually, he did say that he has watched up to some point in early season 3 on Australian TV, but only after I asked.^ But that's just it- the OP said he in the process of getting the series, never said s'he'd actually *seen* it.
Actually, he did say that he has watched up to some point in early season 3 on Australian TV, but only after I asked.^ But that's just it- the OP said he in the process of getting the series, never said s'he'd actually *seen* it.Essentially, he has seen the least popular seasons, the ones with the greatest proportions of dull episodes, and since he has never been on a Trek message board before he had no idea that those are the least popular and that the show changed significantly during seasons 3 and 4. Think about it, if you had only seen the first couple of seasons you might think it's a bit dull too, and with good reason.
keekwai, there's another thing you should note; criticising DS9 for being dull because they're stuck on a space station and not out exploring hits a nerve with some Niners because that's a very old joke that many of us had to put up with for years. DS9 wasn't always as popular as it is now, it was called "The best show on television that nobody watched" for a reason... not many people watched it, not even Star Trek fans. Lots of people did give up on DS9 early or chose not to watch it altogether precisely because it was set on a space station. I remember during BBC2's Star Trek night in 2001 the show was pretty much disregarded as "a bus station in space". It didn't matter that the show had an epic story that involved all the major Star Trek races (except the Borg)... no, to some people it wasn't a proper Star Trek show because it was on a space station.![]()
Either way, since the talk about watching pirated stuff continues, this thread'll be locked soon anyway I guess...
If you want to escape the loop you could just attempt to answer my questions.![]()

Indeed. I've tried to stop .. but people keep bringing it up again .. just like your good self.![]()
Nobody ever said it was against the rules, the only problem I have with it is that it's a generalisation and I'm interested in learning why you feel that way. There's nothing in the rules saying you can't criticise the shows, here's the relevant part:My comment on it being "a bit of a yawn" was a generalisation .. apparently against the "rules". Let's leave it at that. I have my answer.
The truth is this: we all enjoy it around here when someone new gets into Star Trek, it's always fun to see fresh eyes exploring this franchise that most of us know far too much about.Show Criticism: It's fine to say a certain aspect of Star Trek is bad, as long as you don't insult the people who think otherwise, and as long as you actually back up what you say. Jumping in and shouting "Kirk sucks!" is not an acceptable form of constructive criticism.
