Smallville Summer Hiatus Thread III (Spoilers)

There are good ways for fictional characters to die.

Mostly they are awesomely stupid.

But in family Guy when they reinacted the death of Colonel Blake from M*A*S*H* I was laughing and crying all over again.

Doctor fate in confidence tells Chloe that Computers and technology are a trick. the math doesn't hold up and it would never and should never work.

Computers are magic.

Today at the DC Universe "Event Horizon" panel of the comic-Con International in San Diego, it was announced that Chloe Sullivan will be making her first official DCU comic book appearances in the pages of the Jimmy Olsen feature coming to Action Comics.

Not really Smallville news but Smallville related and Chloe related.

About time.

Montoya is the Question these days after beginning off in the background in TAS.

Gods knows where "Chloe" will end up in 10 years.

We now need a concussion scoreboard for number of times Chloe has been announced to appear in a comic. Is this 120 or 121?

It's about fucking time.

So John Schneider, Laura Vandervoort, and James Marsters are all confirmed to be returning this season, right?

Been nice to have Davis pop up again and be given a chance to redeem himself but that will never happen.

^ Considering how pissed Witwer was at the end of that season (he turned down playing Zod after it was offered) I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't show back up.

I think it would have been better if Witwer played Zod in S9...Callum Blue had his moments but it was kinda...meh and a it would have been nice to have something carry over from S8.

Witwer would have been a better Zod...and I remember we came up with theories as to how Davis could host his father. This is I believe the third actual time that Chloe has been said to been incorporated into the DCU the most current being two years ago during Kurt Busiek's run. She was supposed to appear in the Atlas storyline as Lois's cousin and Clark's friend from Smallville. They dropped her because they couldn't find a way to distinguish her from Lois which is amusing because Chloe's character has changed so much since then. Geoff Johns hinted at her future presence in his Secret Origins book as initials on Pete's cast so I was expecting this to happen eventually and now that Smallville is ending I don't see why they couldn't include her in some fashion and to have Paul Cornell write her is going to be fantastic.

So finally this morning is the Smallville Panel...I hope someone posts online the footage they show and I'll be reading the panel when I get up. We might actually finally have something to talk about. Two more months until "Lazurus" actually premiers!

I'll believe it when it actually happens. This is like the 561st time it's been announced...

It's 8:30 A.M. here in Cleveland right now, it's at least another six or seven hours before anything might appear online. Won't stop me from checking all through-out the afternoon though. I liked the comment over at Kryptonsite about GJ sitting on something all weekend... I wonder if its an announcement about Rosenbaum coming back.

Geoff is probably returning to write a couple of episodes is my guess...everyone is expecting Mike to return and if he does that's fantastic of course but I highly doubt that is what they are going to announce. I'm guessing that we will get a repeat confirmation about Jon, James, and Laura along with the showing of the teaser and clips just like last year. It is interesting though the panel is an hour I think. I think last year's was shorter than that. I hope they bring up a score release. I really want one.

Kryptonsite will be twittering the panel presentation

If you hadn't heard already, John Schneider will be back as Pa Kent a bit this season, and he just came on stage!
!!!

So folks what did we all think of that? It was pretty much what I expected. Confirmation of Darkseid as the Final Big Bad. No major casting announcements except for Geoff Johns returning to write "Blue and Gold" which will feature Booster Gold and Blue Beetle yes for the win! I really hope the Legion will return though they were mentioned in the newsarama coverage but I'm confused if they were just lumped in with Supergirl or are actually going to make an appearence. From the Jon Kent scenes it seems like The Dagman and I might be correct regarding Adventures 500 being adapted.

John Kent will be in flashbacks. I think it's a nice way to look back at past seasons. We'll see Clark in the flannel and Welling acting like his younger self.

"Gee I really like Lana and Lex and me are going to a game!"
