Interesting suggestion regarding Chloe as Brainiac 5 but still doesn't reconcile the line that the Legion has no records of Chloe. I'd be happy if Kara got sent to the future but doubt that would happen. Yes I think it'd be awesome if James bleeched his hair blonde again and had green make up or CGI. His personality would be written more like the current Brainy. Sardonic and calculating, and unintentionally funny. This would kind of make my season if the Legion appeared at all. As most of you know it's pretty much my only wish.

Interesting suggestion regarding Chloe as Brainiac 5 but still doesn't reconcile the line that the Legion has no records of Chloe. Right there with you...I have been wanting the L* to appear in S9...hopefully we will see them in S10...the return of Brainiac(Played by Marsters) gives me some hope...but it could be a flash back...which I hope it isn't. It may be hard to do on the Smallville budget but my wish list includes either Triplicate Girl or Phantom Girl and Bouncing Boy along with Brainiac 5 and either Saturn Girl, Cosmic Boy or Lightning Lad.

I think that's what going to happen. Kara will decide that there's nothing for her in Smallville/the world so she leaves with the legion. A nice bookend to Laura/Kara finally leaving.

As I've said before, in the perfect world kara would be making a crossover from her own successful spinoff or setting the ground work for her spinoff

I don't think there would be room for more members just the core founders and Brainy. I'd like Dawnstar, Triplicate Girl, and Star Boy to appear. I'm still working on my live action Legion fan fic btw. Should have something for you guys by the end of Sep.

Didn't Cosmic Boy say something about the predication in the present fuddling the future? Wouldn't it be difficult for the future to be reset to exactly how it was before from his persepective? I mean it's Smallville so of course it is/will, and Cosmic Boy wouldn't have to end up barrelling through half the fun the kids over in Eureka are.

Don't remember reading about that but Rokk did say something about them traveling too early in the timestream when they first arrived in Metropolis. Garth then made his joke about Clark not being Superman yet. Of course they can change their minds and write whatever the hell they want but Geoff Johns wrote "Legion" not the writers and injected seeds for the writers to play around with that were no doubt discussed. The writers have probably forogtten about that line just like they probably forgot that Lana Lang has a great destiny as Imra told her in Clark's attic.

I think that is part of the joke with Smallville...The Legion arriving "early"...no tights, no flights...we all got a big laugh....ha ha.

Actually I do think Geoff used the Legion as an outlet to voice the concerns of the fans over the years which is why those jokes were made which I didn't find lame at all. It was part of the charm of the episode.

I didn't think the jokes were lame...I think Smallville is lame because 8 seasons in at that point and he still can't fly...he doesn't start wearing the \S/ until season 9...I think the original plan of "no tights, no flights" was good up until Kal-El flew in season 4...after season 5 it really makes less sense...sorry for my rant.

Legion is one of my favs for that reason...it does voice the concerns of fans from many angles and I like the L*.

Actually I think it might be my favorite episode of the series ever. I just adore the Legion though since I first discovered them during my second foot surgery recovery two years ago. I'd been familiar with them of course (much like Scott Pilgrim) but never really were into them and I'd seen the "Superboy and Legion of Superheoes" animated series but it wasn't really until Geoff Johns started using them in his Supes run and retconned them that I have started to really love them. Especially Saturn Girl and Brainy. They're my two favorite characters.

No one is cooler than Mattereaterlad, I mean fuck it. Mattereaterlad vs Brainiac? Mattereaterlad vs Doomsday? If mattereaterlad had come back instead of lightning Lad or Cosmic Boy in season 9, his entire plan would have been to unhinge his jaw: eat Chloe, eat Davis and then three days later shit them into a potty.

I often wonder why they never unleashed him against Darkseid?

* Maybe (stretch) they were trying to protect the timeline (hard because everything almost got revealed anyway).

I don't know, NX, I think you're first point there is pretty valid and could most likely come to pass.

OTOH, I still like my own theory about Chlo inheriting the Helmet of Nabu and become a female Dr. Fate. She could still do the necessary fudging of the records, assume a new identity and have a new alter-ego to boot.

It's a nice dream...

I could see the records being deleted...in fact I seriously thought that was how they were going to write Chloe out of the series last year but they swerved. The line she gives to Tess about all of her work being inside the Watchtower and then the follow up when she tells Clark that she's spent the last year after he left isolating herself from the world really effected me. I was totally thinking about the Legion's line...and what's most effective about how that line was delivered was when Rokk delivers it his face is full of confusion like he doesn't know who the fuck Clark is talking about.

That's kinda the way I felt when Dr. Fate delivered the declaration that he and Chloe walked the same paths, and that's what got me to thinking that perhaps that's how they'd write her out... Or better put, what the resolution to her story would be.

I just really hope that they don't kill her. There are so many other avenues open that the character doesn't have to die.
