USS Venice is an exploratory vessel, operating outside Federation territory. The potential for new discoveries is enormous, but so is the potential for other, less enjoyable occurrences. Venice keeps its focus mainly on character development; but as well as the classic Star trek theme of exploration, elements of mystery and horror weave their way through the ship's journey.

This is a sim for those who want classic Star Trek stories, lots of character interaction, but also a hint of something else. USS Venice can provide it.

We are looking for crew in any and all departments. The Venice is a new sim, just getting off the ground, and this is a great opportunity for someone to jump in and help shape the future of the sim.

A little introduction about the USS Segedunum

The year is 2387; most of the Federation and its allies have been decimated by new foe known only to the Borg as Species 317 however the survivors have nicknamed them the "Apocalypse".

Only a handful of Starships have managed to survive the onslaught of Species 317. The primary Starship leading the fight, in an effort to rebuilding what is left of the Federation is, the USS Segedunum. She has been specially modified with Borg technology to withstand temporal based weaponry.

It's up to Captain Byron Bladestorm and his valiant crew to find the survivors and regroup in an effort to rebuild. Who knows if they can get life back to normal in the galaxy...

The USS Monitor is a recently commissioned defiant class Federation starship. She is posted near the neutral zone between the United Federation of Planets and the Romulan empire. Despite both the acts of the Romulans and the Federation, Pirate Cartels are constantly waging war over regions of space within the Monitor's operation area. Recent intelligence has found cartel shipping lanes linking the Federation and the Romulans. Because of this, a standing order has been placed upon the Monitor to investigate any known pirate operations, and assist in the organization of any under the influence of one of the cartel's, in this regard the Monitor has been granted the ability to enter the neutral zone, recording all activity and reporting back to starfleet upon exit.

Her main goal on the Monitor is to provide and active and invigorating role play experience through mixing departments into manageable sizes, providing in-depth missions, individual character plots and tasks as well as an rich back story. Also, upon full activation, a minimum period between posts will take effect. Enter, take a look around, and if you feel up to the task, apply for a position on the USS Monitor today!

As the Federation forges into new frontiers the vessels of Task Force 7 are assigned to hold the line against the emergent Cardassian Union, a decade after they were humbled by the Federation Alliance. A once broken and desperate people now look to regain what they believe is their rightful place in the upper echelons of politics in the Alpha Quadrant.

Three starships are now sent to the border region as tensions grow, the task group flagship the USS Phaeton leads the way, her state of the art systems and highly trained crew prepared to stand firm against those with hostile intentions all the while ready to gather intelligence by utilising their elite reconnaissance unit.

The USS Omaha is just getting under way, her new commanding officer is still finalising many crew positions, but the super fast Intrepid class starship is to be the eyes and ears of the fleet while exploring areas of space once closed to the Federation.

Last but by no means least the USS Zhukov, a venerable Ambassador class starship, is en route to a Federation colony where a deadly virus has taken hold, as they race to their aid they must not only find a cure but uncover who is responsible.

Al of these vessels have various positions open so whether its Operations, Medical or Flight Control then why not have a look, who knows what new adventures await...

Second Fleet Online is looking for new recruits to come join us! We're a pretty relaxed bunch, always ready to have fun, and we know real life comes first. We encourage a positive, laid-back atmosphere on our site, and we are a character-driven RP that just happens to be based in the Star Trek Universe. We're also an R-rated forum, and prefer our members to be eighteen or older. Don't worry about your role playing skills, as we have members at all levels, from beginners to advanced.

The only thing you need is a desire to RP and a good attitude.

Our RP takes place in 2373, right before the beginning of the Dominion War. Cardassia is severely weakened from its war with the Klingon Empire, and Maquis raids. The Federation and the Klingon Empire are slowly starting to work together again, while the Romulans wait behind the Neutral Zone. And in the meantime, the Dominion plots its conquest of the Alpha Quadrant, its legions of Jem'Hadar tasked with one goal... Victory.

Right now, we have two Starfleet ships. The USS Gambit is a Sovereign-class ship commanded by Captain Samsara Steelman. The USS Theia is a Miranda-class ship commanded by Captain Rachel Embry. There are a few openings for junior personnel in all areas on both ships.

We also have a Rebellion on the site. The Rebellion ship is a D'deridex-class warbird commanded by Captain Robert Garrett. The Rebellion is dedicated to bringing the truth about the Federation into the light, as they believe the Federation is really controlled by Romulans.

We are in the process of launching Starbase 47, and hope to have enough people to launch a third ship, which will be attached to the starbase. Starbase 47 will also be the home of Second Fleet's first fighter squadron. There are many positions that need to be filled, mostly with junior staff, but there are a few senior staff positions available.

Since the destruction of Romulus, the worlds of the former empire have fragmented. Some worlds have rebuilt. Other have descended into chaos. One thing is for certain, the balance of power has shifted, and now the Federation and Klingon Empire both try to capitalize on these changes.

Starbase Prime has been built to extend Starfleets influence in the former Romulan territories and to explore and hold the peace in the nearby sector. Among the Starbases duties are to protect civilian shipping, provide humanitarian relief to impoverished Romulan planets, and to keep the Klingon Empire at bay.

After an catastrophic event with the ancient gate portal a ribbon of space appeared on the doorstep of Starbase Prime. Its origin is unknown and the starbase's main task is to guard it but also to carefully explore the phenomena. The rift has puzzled many scientists and its well-known that the law of physics does not always apply in the rift. It's claimed to be a rift in space and time continuum, often heard garbled messages from the past, present and the future, and signals in unknown languages. Ghost ships appear and fade near it, and time flows in strange directions. The opening has driven some mad with the single desire to enter it, and they will stop at nothing to succeed. Starbase Prime struggles to keep the curious and the called away from the quarantine zone around the rift.

Starbase Prime and the civilian ship Risky Venture needs you, we are looking for creative people who love to write to help us make history.

Currently, we have two Starfleet ships and a starbase. The USS Gambit is a Sovereign-class ship commanded by Captain Samsara Steelman. At this time, the Gambit is not accepting any new personnel. Our Miranda-class ship, the USS Theia, is commanded by Captain Rachel Embry. There are multiple junior staff positions available in all areas on the Theia. Vanguard Station, commanded by Captain Rose Kelley, lies near the Cardassian Demilitarized Zone. All junior personnel positions are open, as well as the senior staff science position. The station also comes with its own fighter squad, and there are several pilot slots that can be filled.

Finally, we intend to launch two additional ships around September. The USS Indefatigable, an Intrepid-class ship commanded by Captain Winston Cummings, has its Chief Medical Officer and Chief Science Officer slots available, as well as numerous junior staff positions. Captain Robert Garrett will command the USS Andraste, an Akira-class ship. As of this time, only the Commanding Officer, First Officer, and Chief Medical Officer positions have been filled. All other senior and junior staff positions are available, including several fighter pilot slots.

With the Tzentkethi, Breen, Gorn, and Tholians forming the major backbone of one bloc, the Federation and her allies (The Klingons, Romulans, and Cardassians) forming the other; the sides now find themselves in an escalating cold war that has been building since the earlier part of the decade. The USS Argyll has been launched into this environment. While armed like a cruiser, she still has the same scientific capabilities as the best of Starfleet's explorers. With a mandate to continue exploring, the Argyll has no boundaries in her assignment and her captain looks to push them back even further.
