No I have not, obviously it would really hurt. I picked up a TV by the cord, swung it around my head and smashed it into a wall once, that was much less painful and just as satisfying.
But I can control my temper these days and have not done anything as foolish in the last decade or so.

Agree. It really is scary how little self controll one had as a teen. I remember ones I got so angry at a friend, who was on the phone speaking with someone else at that moment, that I snatched the phone away, trampelt on it several times and kicked it around, while shouting and cursing at my rather stunnend friend, then picked the phone up, threw it against a wall, kicked over a small table that had some glasses on it and left the room with banging the door loudly shut.

aight, i wasn't exactly aiming at that. but yeah
i'd rather not make a list of what i have over the years because this is public. safe to say worse things than you mentioned has happened. but now that you look back you'll almost become scared of yourself, aren't you? i know i am. and i regret a lot of crap i did, although anger wasn't always involved.
Yeah and its embarressing to think back at some things. In that situation, were I was so angry, I actually was really jealous at said friend, who was in love and had ignored me for months because of that...and then, when I had complained, promised me this evening just for us two... and than was on that phone AGAIN.
Oh well... they are still a couple today, have a sweet child and I am good friends with both of them. *L*

There was only one wall that I hated enough to punch. His name was Stucco. But I took the high road and walked away.
i threw a chair across a class room in high school once. i was having an arguement with this one kid and he was just standing there with this inane grin on his face, so i just hulked out and scremed 'stop fucking standing there grinning, you bastard!!!' picked this chair up and he legged it across the room to get to the door and i hurled the chair clear across the room and just missed him.
Actually, now I think of it, I should have just asked everyone. It's just I've only ever known men to do it, and after asking around other men I know, I found that a surprising amount of them have punched walls before. It never occcurred to me that women might punch walls as well; none I know have. They're such delicate creatures.sidious618 and others said:

Usually if I am that upset I don't do anything physical, I just sit there stewing in anger, thinking too much about it, until I just start crying. But like I said it rarely happens, I can't even remember the last time.

Not anywhere round here anyway! I have to (ashamedly) admit that I currently have a bruise on my hand where I hit the wall two days ago. I was standing in a doorway at the time, and those are metal in this house, so the wall's fine!
It was an outlet for my frustration, I was not having a good day.
EDIT: Just re-reading Spot's Meow's post - wanted to add, for me it isn't a loss of control. It's a very deliberate act to retain control. The wall is a better choice of opponent than anyone else in this house.

Well, the cabinets were installed before the walls were, so they didn't fit through the doors. And they were built in place, so they were not simple, cheap, screw-together things. And they were solid wood frames, built really sturdily. But orders were orders.
We banged away at those things all day. It was LOUD because the room pretty much acted like an echo chamber--and everyone in the hall (and therefore the entire lab) could hear the banging all day. It took hours because they were so well-built. And once we were able to rip them from the walls, they had to be further broken into smaller pieces (size requirement for the trash). It really hurt to have to literally destroy things that were so well made and had no reason to be destroyed except for the instructions.
BUT ... we sure got out A LOT of frustration that day.

Having worked in urban-based Women's Health for 22 years, I must refute this assessment.
But then I suppose nobody here has ever had to come between two sixteen-year-old girls in their ninth month of pregnancy who are trying to kill each other with their bare hands.

Stewing in anger isn't healthy, people need an outlet. Whether it's a heavy bag, joining barfights, or punching a wall.
Yep and I got scars on my knuckles from it. I also punched the road once after I crashed.
Crying is an outlet, one that is less physically painful and damaging to the objects around you.
