When I was much younger, much less mature, and just brimming with hormones, yes. Haven't done anything so silly in many years.

And let me agree with those who have already pointed out that women can be pointlessly violent as well.

I try to pick something to punch that will not injure me if I really need to let off some steam. Examples include pillows, stuffed animals, and the mattress. The worst thing I've hit in anger has been my keyboard, and that is made so durably that no damage was done.

I usually try to control myself, but in my line of work, I deal with some fucking morons. And instead of punching them in the face, I punch the metal counters in the back. It's very loud. And VERY painful.

I've been trying to control myself, but these assholes know how to push all the right buttons, and sometimes that metal counter is all that stands between me and them.

Sure, when I was a young teen I remember punching through a drywall, and a cheap door (twice!). Silly in retrospect of course, but at that age, given the evident lack of self-control I had at the time, better the wall/door than a person!

No wall punching, but quite a few hammers slammed into the dirt/boards, sticks swung in to posts, machete slashing blackberry bushes, scythe slashing thistles, all in the line of ranch work, frustration venting, or the latter at difficulties in the former.

Embarrassed to say yes I have. Put my fist through a wall at the office. An inept coworker just drove me to utter madness. My boss understood but suggested I find a better outlet in the future.

He also had me patch the hole.
