Summer 2010 Anime

Well the more down to Earth it is, the cheaper it is to animate too. This would also make sense since the Japanese anime industry is going through tough times right now.

Ah right, Basquash. I guess I got the first syllable confused.

And yeah, I imagine cost has a lot to do with it. I'm sure it's almost second nature to draw a high school hallway nowadays.

Well, this might be a short thread then. :(

Also people here should watch Sekirei and it's sequel this upcoming season. It's a pretty cool combination of action elements with a harem show. Lots of interesting action, comedy, and fan service. You can find the first season streaming free and legal like from Funimation at that link.

Gah! Damn region blocking.

I assumed that because Funimation streams One Piece to Canada I would be able to watch their other shows too. Apparently they have different rules for different shows.

Anyway, Sekirei and High School of the Dead both look pretty interesting. The rest I couldn't care less about.

That sucks, though 2 seconds and two words on Google will get you the same show too. I really don't know why the frell they'd region lock out Canada. It's the same damn region for DVDs as us.

Not Funimation's site, but I've been having trouble with a few streaming sites myself that suddenly became turtle speed on me about 2 weeks ago, when they previously worked great. It's definitely not my connection since it's only a few specific websites (crunchyroll.com, Hulu.com) and others like Youtube and Funimation work perfectly. This should absolutely not be happening because my connection speed is blazing fast. I'm seriously stumped. I tried using IE instead of Firefox, I tried updating Firefox and IE, I tried updating Flash, but no good. :brickwall:

They got delisted from the exchange and merged with their corporate parent... it's why they haven't really done anything this year.
Guess that squashes my hopes for another FMP sequel.
FMP was taken away from Gonzo a LOOOOOONGGGG time ago. The vastly superior Kyoto Animation (of Haruhi, Kannon, and Clannad fame) handled FMPs 2 sequals, Fumoffu and The Second Raid. If a 4th series were to be made, chances are KyoAni would be in charge. The novels are still in the works so there is always a chance a new season will come out.

Especially, now that the novels have ended. Tokyopop here has even zombified the book series back to life.

Basara is not a post-apocalyptic story, it's a period peace during the Japanese Warring States with enormous artistic liberties taken such Oda Nobunaga as a Dark Lord and Tokugawa Ieyasu commanding a giant robot.
Sorry, my error. The giant robot thew me off, I haven't done more than a quick preview of Basara.

Hah, for the two people who still remember Bakemonogatari, that finale episode finally got streamed.

It's about f***ing time hopefully a fansub will turn up soon though, speaking of region locking. Of course the bigger problem is subbing. :borg:

Yeah. What's up with that? Didn't the Second Barrage end on #20?

EDIT: LOL...I forgot both season were 12 eps each.

Ah Thanks I tried the [youtube] tags which work on another board I go to as part of the process. Looks like I wasn't far off.

EDIT: Still doesn't work. It just ends up with a big square white space instead of the video when I used the embed codestuff and when I try just the url it mysteriously vanishes. The video and code also disappear when you reply to it so you can't read anyone's code to see the format. :brickwall:

I'm assuming it's just the standard [][/] like other BB code though.

Yeah, you can't edit a post with a youtube video embedded in it without it disappearing... I have no idea why though.
