an episode of Six Feet Under - he was one in an opening (death of the week) segment, billed only as "Boring Man"; it was a small but hilarious role.
At first it was a nice, watchable family drama, if nothing must-see spectacular... but they just couldn't let go of the forced love triangle between the lead character and the two boys (who kinda looked similar - why does that happen with all those shows with lots of pretty teenage/early 20s characters?), or rather quadrangle, and it got really annoying and tiresome sometime as the show went on, and it turned into a huge love polygon that involved pretty much every under-35 character on the show. 
I think I got fed up around season 3 and tuned out for a while, partly because Nana's character was taking a back seat during that time, watched a little bit on and off then tuned back again to see the ending. It got more interesting every time Nana's character had more to do, both because she was great, and because her storylines were actually decently written. Amazingly, her romantic plots on the show, when they happened, were actually decent, unlike the horrible love polygon in the focus of the show. The non-romantic relationships on the show (the lead and the eponymous horse, the lead and her kinda mentor/mother figure played by Nana, the lead and her mentor/trainer, parents/children relationships...) were also decent.
