EXCLUSIVE SNEAK PEAK AT PHASE II "ORIGINS"!

Is there an official release schedule out there for all these phase II eps in the pipe?

I can tell you what's in the pipeline (and I think folks have heard these all before). Exactly when they will be completed and in what order is unclear--and constantly changing.

I don't think there's anything that would keep "Enemy: Starfleet!" from being our next release--probably in July. (That's especially true since we've already released the opening teaser and part of the first act.) After that, we shot "The Child" and "Kitumba" and then, just a week or two ago, "Origins." Just as with the original series, these episodes are each requiring different amounts of visual effects, and they might each end up crossing their respective finish lines in a slightly different order than that in which they were shot. (Little things like deciding to drop in a CGI "Lieutenant Arex" pushes things back a bit.)

We've also learned that the only thing that disappoints fans more than long periods of time between episodes is an "official" release date that we couldn't meet. So we make our dates "official" only when we can pretty certain of meeting those dates.

And here are a couple of shots of our "Number One"--played by Gina Hernandez:

Hey, you even got the retro chairs. Wait, I'm missing the point, aren't I?

Yes, we have some Cage/Where No Man Has Gone Before-era retro chairs. (If I recall, I bought four of them.) Actually, the Burke chairs are the same as the regular TOS chairs; they just haven’t been tricked out yet with the little funky triangular things on the back and the addition of the high-backed padding and the blue paint. We were just about to start modifying these chairs that we recently got for our “regular” production when we realized we would need to keep them “as is” for our “Origins” shoot.

We’ll probably let them stay in their original style for a few months until we’re sure we are done with all our pick-up shots and won’t be needing them. Then we’ll probably modify them into regular Trek chairs.

Funny, I always thought the chairs were gray. First the gold uniforms are actually avocado, then the gray chairs are blue, next thing you'll tell me the redshirts are actually magenta.

There were unpainted armless Burke chairs (as seen in "The Cage"):

There were unpainted Burke chairs *with arms* (as seen in "The Cage"):

There are Volkswagen blue armless Burke chairs with black padding (as seen, well, all of the time):

There are Volkswagen blue Burke chairs *with arms*. (You can see three of them in "The Conscience of the King"--and yes, Kirk's chair in the briefing room is always the "armed" style.)

And since the maximum number of these blue Burke chairs with arms that I have been able to see in one shot is three, my hunch is that the fourth chair in what was probably a four chair set was painted Starfleet gray instead of painted Volkswagen blue. You can see a gray chair with arms with black padding in "The Enemy Within:"

It is this Starfleet gray Burke chair *with arms* that gets the rust/metallic Alexander Girard fabric (as seen in "Obsession"):

And lastly, when we see a Burke chairs *without arms* but with the rust/metallic Alexander Girard fabric, it appears to be painted blue:

So the variants we have never seen are:

* Blue, with arms, with rust/metallic fabric
* Gray, without arms, with rust/metallic fabric
