The next series of Last of the Summer Wine will be its last, with the comedy to be cancelled after 37 years, the BBC has announced.

I am I the only one who thought this show had already ended.

Last year UK gold showed the first ever episode and I found myself laughing so must have been good once.

That's the trouble though most of its audience is dead I mean my grandmother used to watch it annd she died about 8 years ago.

It's not that the BBC is ageist, it's that the whole thing is written by one man who is frankly getting on, and they can't afford insurance for older actors like Peter Sallis to do any outdoor work.

It's a shame to see it go since it's a British institution, but I haven't watched in like 11 years. My grandmother still likes it though.
