Cindy and the kids

Temis the Vorta

Fleet Admiral
Admiral
So...did Cindy and the kids die after all? Did Smokey get them in the Temple attack? Or were there people other than Hurley, Ben, Rose, Bernard and Vincent (yes, he's people :D) living on the island for an indefinite period of time after the finale...assuming they didn't want Hurley to let them off the island...but wouldn't Hurley feel morally obligated to send the children home to their next of kin, even if they wanted to stay with Cindy?

I just wish there would have been a throwaway line explaining why they were "good" and were accepted into the hierarchy of the Others.

This was something I was hoping would be resolved in the finale, even with just a sentence or two. They were weird throughout the whole series and I just don't get what was going on with them.

Cindy & the kids defected to Flocke's party, when the Temple slaughter happened. They traveled with that group, until Widmore attacked them with artillery on the beach. At that point, all we know is that some of the group died in the attack, & some fled into the jungle, according to Flocke

I guess we just have to hope that since she had been caring for the kids for so long (3 years), that she'd have guided them to safety:shrug:

Kind of a disappointment, really, Cindy had been around since the bloody pilot. Would have been nice to get a bit of resolution on her. I imagine that the actress, Kimberly Joseph probably felt a bit jilted too. That was her only show or movie in the past 5 years, according to imdb

It would have been difficult to explain how they got word to them to get on the plane. They'd been living in the Jungle for three years, odds are they would continue to do so. Maybe Cindy would be the leader of the Others after that (although there are only a handful left) and Ben would be their Richard.

I would think that Hurley would need his own "Others". Even if he does things differently then Jacob, he still needs to protect the Island. And he probably can't do that by himself or with just Ben.

Also, there are still probably hundreds of Others alive off Island that could possibly be brought back to the Island to help out. All the people running all of their companies (Biowerk, etc...) plus places like the Butcher shop that held Locke's body for a few days, and more that were hinted at.

The Others were a big organization on and off Island. Ben was a multimillionaire, tons of passports and such. They had private jets, satellites (apparently. Remember Ben was able to get a live uplink to Richard from the Island to Florida) and tons of other stuff.

All these people worked for (Evil)Ben and Jacob so now they will all work for (good)Ben and Hurley.

You don't need your own satellite to geta live uplink. You just buy access to someone else's. Happens all the time.

It seems to me that the writers didn't realize how curious we actually were about this plot thread. Most of the mysteries they at least tried to touch on or explain (even in incredibly vague terms), but Cindy and kids were just kind of left alone. It would have almost been better had they not showed up again in later seasons, so we could have just explained them away like we do for Walt. Including them in Season 6 and then doing nothing with them seems like a huge wasted opportunity.

I'd love to see them pop up in the epilogue with Hurley and Ben on the Island.

Yeah, Cindy was always a character I've wondered about. She disappears for long periods of time and then suddeny appears. I've wondered what happened to her and the kids. I would like to think if they survived, Hurley let them go back.

Go back where?

At this point, it would seem they're quite happy living on the Island. The question is: why? Were they brainwashed in the crazy room where they rescued Carl?

Sorry, I didn't mean physically, I meant conceptually. They would not operate the same way they did under bad!Ben.
