^Price we have to pay. ;)

In our defense, though, it's insane how the Seven-of-Nine fans carry on...they make us look TAME, with all their talk about "sizes", catsuits, curves, etc.

With us Ezri fans, character is queen.

BTW--doesn't anyone find it ironic that Nicole would marry a rock star? Consider: in the bonus disk to the Season 7 DVDs, Alexander Siddig describes his mental image of Ezri as a "rock chick"....

(Don't know where he got that idea...but it's still fascinatingly coincidental.)

I'm not a big fan of Seven of Nine's fake looks either, but in defence of Ezri over Seven, I do prefer Ezri's personality one hundred-fold. Seven became more tiresome with her endless "When you severed me from the collective..." speeches and her increasingly belligerent attitude as Voyager went on. At least Ezri didn't test the viewer's patience in that regard, even if I do find her to be unattractive.

although i must point out that i wouldn't have minded seeing ezri in a catsuit :-)
about the rock chick comparison. characters are often (if not always) influenced by the actor so i don't find it too strange for nicole to merry a rock star. guess she's a bit "rock chick" in real life too.

then you shouldn't read "the needs of the many". seven so damn arrogant in that book. its just terrible...

Something I did recently, for self-amusement. Think, "Ezri goes Jack Bauer":

Whatever you do...don't call her "Weak".

Nicole was punk chick as a teenager, with black clothes, eyeliner and a pierced nose. She still is a punk chick today as well. I'd assume that side of her just bleed through to Ezri and/or Sidding was other wise aware of that side of her. She's played rock chicks before: Laura in Kid in the hall for instance.

I dunno...again, I never saw any elements of "punk" in Ezri--unless, of course, we're referring to the mirror version.

In the end I chose Ezri. It was fun to see Dax vulnerable and unsure. Plus Bashir got the girl in the end. I could see Dax choosing a K as a mate but not over Jules.

It's funny. People are often stunned beyond belief when I tell them my age--but it's for the exact opposite reason than for Miss deBoer. I look a bit old for my age (and, as my friend Nerys Ghemor noted, I sound it, too)--she looks insanely young for her age.

(Trek Urban Legend: Rush Limborg encountered Ezri Dax one fateful day, and asked her for a kiss on the cheek. She chuckled, smiling sweetly at him, with a playful sparkle in her eye--and he will never forget what she said in response:

"Take a hike, Grandpa.")

As Ronald Reagan said to George Burns, in that memorable Dean Martin Roast, I say:

Nikky...I salute you. May you still have that same youthful vigor...when you finally reach--if you ever do--old age. :techman:

that reminds me of something my mother told me once.

-If you behave you might once be what your grandfather is someday.
-What?
-Old...
i think that was the time i stole a family members mercedes and i was like ten at the time. (thank god for auto. gearbox)

As Sybok would probably say - "I couldn't help but notice your pain. It runs deep." :p

Ezri is not likable. She is basically a whiney bitch. Jadzia was somewhat likable but not that believable. Dax was an interesting attempt, but they were both not that good at executing. I'll take Jadzia just because I could stand her. I could never stand Ezri. Yeah Ezri maybe looked a little better. I think it's about a push as far as looks go, but there's nothing about Ezri I could like as a character.

Jadzia is not likable. She is basically an arrogant bitch. Ezri was likable and believeable. Dax was an interesting attempt, and they both played it well. (Farrell did a good job at playing a party-girl bitch and de Boer did a good job at playing a likeable character.) I'll take Ezri if for no other reason than that she's not Jadzia. I could never stand Jadzia. Yeah Ezri looked a great deal better as well. It's not a contest in the looks department and there's little I could like about Jadzia.

There you go, I corrected that for you. :) ;)

nah, Jadzia wasnt so bad. and i'm truly sorry for saying this Rush but i would have liked it better if the new dax was a guy. not that i dont like ezri, she's my favourite but imagine the look on Worfs face:guffaw: bloody priceless.

EDIT: damn. "The Ezris" are behind! i'm getting vpn and reregistering myself :). WE GOTTA CATCH UP PEOPLE!

Well, if the new Dax were a guy, I'd think Worf would've found it easier. After all, he'd have no reason to feel jealous--I doubt Julian and Quark would've gone for "him".

Anyhow...remember, TPTB established that they wanted a girl--because otherwise, Kira'd be the only one in the cast.

Now, I'm glad it wasn't a guy. Ezri's probably the best thing to happen to DS9, for the final season. It'd been a long time since Trek had a sweety feminine, innocent, young-at-heart girl in the cast. (And even Uhura and Rand had a slightly harder edge than her....)

Except for Kes who had been written out only one year earlier.

i know they wanted a girl and i'm not saying it as a mistake. aside from you i'm probably ezri's biggest fan. i just think it would have given the story an interesting turn.
i always had a problem with sisko calling jadzia and ezri "old man"

and as happydave pointed out i pretty sure Kes counts as sweety, innocent, young at heart.

Well, before Ezri, Kes was the only "sweety, innocent, young at heart" female character I can think of in Trek.

So, I'll gladly add my voice to say that it was about time another one was added.
