I just can't seem to muster the will to spam *cough*Shameless*cough*, I mean post as much as some other members here, and since I've become a Dad my posting has almost completely dropped off.

My question is, how do you posters with high post counts do it? Even on my best day I don't think I can post more than 10 times.

They do the chat in a thread thing, where they make it all conversational with less content and can post ten times back and forth in less than five minutes.

I believe that the most I have posted in a week is about the 150 mark and I found that to be hard work. Yet there are people who can post that in a day.

Most of my post count comes from some incredibly loooonngggggg debates I've had in TNZ

That being said, my post count has dropped quite a bit in the last couple of years

I'm here every day, take part in stupid post building threads like the movie game and still only have 2,540* in 10 years.

I think I got my first 10,000 posts within a year or so, and have really never posted that much sense. I used to make a game out of it and try to post 100 times a day, but now I can't find that much stuff to talk about since I don't watch Star Trek on a daily basis.

taking part in avatar contests, talking about episodes of Doctor Who/Torchwood/Sarah-Jane Adventures, arguing about films and Trek novels, spamming up the late-night thread and spamming up blue warp nacelles all added to mine.

oh yeah, and posting fan-fic in the fan-fic contests, taking part in the GBOW threads and commenting in other people's fan-fic.

Is it really a good thing to have a very high post count, when you think about it? It implies either you're a spammer, you've got way too much free time, or you're ancient and have been here a very long time.

For some of us, all three apply in equal measure...

I practically lived on this board for some years in the middle of the decade when I had no car and lived alone. Today I don't post nearly as much and am much more lurky, but that's how I got 'up there'

Yeah, I've been here ten years (seven on this account) and it's only just now that I'm starting to close in on 8,000 posts. I'll probably pass it within the next year or so, at the rate I'm going. So if I stick around another decade or so, I figure I'll be able to make Admiral.

I'm starting to feel bad about my almost 9 years and 10k posts... then I look at cooleddie's post count and feel better.
