Star Trek Vegas 2010

In reguards to chance meetings with Star Trek actors. ... The TOS supporting cast and guest stars seem to be much more open to saying hello to fans when seen in public areas. They appreciate us and enjoy the attention, plus they know that we are the reason they are getting paid to be there. People from the later series don't seem to have the same view. Jeffrey Combs got on the elevator with me and actually looked scared that I might recognize him. When we got to the first floor he ducked his head and rushed out. I swear I took a shower that morning. I will admit that I looked at him and thought "I recognize him from somewhere." Maybe he mistook that look for "No one is around. This is my chance."

The morning after seeing Tim Russ and his band perform I met him in a hallway and said "Nice band" as I walked by. He gave his handler a "It spoke. Do something." look and went on by. :vulcan:

There are exceptions. I would like to go again and meet John Billingsly. I hear he is very nice towards the fans. :bolian:

I'm planning on going. Family says they'll pay for my trip for my bday. Only thing is I'm Canadian and if none of my friends will come I'll be on my own. If I do end up going alone, any advice? Safety or otherwise.

I'll also be paying 40$ to get my picture taken with Andrew Robinson. Does anyone know if getting his autograph costs extra or is that another line up all together?

I've never been to any convention before.
Hi. I tried to PM you, but you're not accepting. I was going to give you my cellphone number so you could meet up with me and my roomie to hang with us.

A few pointers:
Vegas is huge. Wear comfortable shoes, you're going to be standing in line a lot.

You won't really get to spend any time chatting with the stars (unless you attend some exclusive event like the wine and cheese party I got to attend with Connor at Parsippany last July) because the organizers keep tight control on access.

Autograph and photo op lines are really long so you have to keep moving. They stop just short of using a cattle prod on you.

Don't go nuts buying autograph and photo op tickets -- I made that mistake in 2008 and I was run ragged. I was exhausted by 9 p.m. every night.

I'd definitely look around for a good hotel deal--there's plenty of them out there. Even though the con is at the Riviera...
:wtf: The convention is being held at the Las Vegas Hilton.

I haven't been a member for two weeks yet so I can't get any PM's or send any out(sorry :(). But we can email eachother numbers. My email is: Starshipcodes@live.ca or we can just wait till the 1st of june, I should be able to PM by then.

It would be nice to be able to hang with people who knows whats going on. I'll admit seeing as I've never done anything like this before, once I do get there I know I'll be very lost at first.

List: Good shoes, snacks and a map.

Hmm...Well I think I just want 1 photo and 1 autograph with the same guy. It hasn't listed the day he's comming yet and I hope he will end up comming. Thanks for the warning, though. I don't know how long lines ups can get.

I think it would be a hoot to meet Garrett and John somewhere on the floor or in a bar. :-) I guess when I see some of the actors in interviews and such, they seem friendlier than when caught unawares by us crazy fans. ;-) I imagine Michael Dorn and Jonathan Frakes would be friendly but who knows.

Too bad the Con hotel is that much even if a good deal cuz so convenient to be right there. But I'll walk across the street for $180 for 4 nights including free full breakfast.

Oh, I didn't know that. That's fine. I'll e-mail ya! :)

This will be my second Vegas con. I've done others elsewhere.

Andy is scheduled to appear with Casey Biggs, Marc Alaimo, Jeffrey Combs and Salome Jens in a DS9 Dominion Q/A forum on Friday.
There's also a DS9 Promenade forum with James Darren, Armin Shimerman, Nana Visitor, Rene Auberjonois, and Aron Eisenberg.

For autographs, handicapped fans go first regardless of what ticket level they have. Then Gold ticket holders, then Captain's Chair tickets, preferred weekend and then everybody else (I guess).
Forums continue while people are lining up for autographs which were set up backstage when I was there in '08, so you might miss something happening onstage, tho' you can still hear everything.

I do plan to get Andy's autograph (among others) but I'm only getting two photo ops -- Connor (always!) and Shatner.

P.S.: Sent an e-mail. :)

You seem well experienced in these things.

I really want to see this Dominion Q/A forum.

The line up makes sense to be kind to those who are handicapped. Especially if you don't get treated so well the longer the line up lasts.

I want to buy the "GENERAL ADMISSION WEEKEND PACKAGES". That gets you into all the basic things it seems.

Edit: I saw all the extra events and costs etc now.

Maybe we'll end up talking in the line up to Andy's autograph.

Bruce Greenwood, Captain Chris Pike, has just been added. And funny I mentioned Michael Dorn and he has been added. This just gets better and better!

I might go this year as Jeri Ryan has been added as a guest...anyone need a room mate at their hotel? :P

Odd linup this year. Some good main attractions but shallow in the recurring supporting cast area. Lots of one time D-list guest stars that you never saw again on other shows.

JMHO
