Silent Letters

“I was sick all over the floor”
Is quite common usage here. Much more polite than “technicolour yawn”/ “spewed”/“chucked up”
“Technicolor yawn”? LOL! Never heard that one before.
I remember seeing that one in an article years ago (might have been in Rolling Stone, when said publication was still somewhat worth the paper it was printed on.) Listed were quite a few picturesque terms for that particular activity; I can't remember them all, but I recall being quite amused by "singing lunch" and "say hello to the tiger".


He means it's his phrase for serious vomiting episodes. :)

That bit I get, the etymology I'm questioning.
Yeah, that one escapes me, too, unless perhaps the driving is the same as in "driving the porcelain bus" and the "york" in "Yorktown" is more or less onomatepoeic.
