Who,s your favourite klingon in TOS?

Mine has to be Kang in the episode called Day Of The Dove . His character shows great strength and plotting and also i thought that he was a great nemesis and villain to put against Kirk pity they only locked arms in combat once in the series .

I also find that now i have come to like the TOS klingons .

    Your thoughts who,s yours.?

    No love for Korax?

Did that Klingon captain played by K.L. Smith ("Elaan of Troyius") ever get an off-screen name?

Can't you have ONE conversation without bringing up Drek09?

I vote for Kor. He was so sinister and slimy. Kang is a close second. I can barely tolerate Koloth--maybe if he'd been in something more dramatic.

I also got to meet John Colicos in person once a couple of years before he died. It was a treat and I got to shake his hand and get his autograph.

I voted Kor but I easily could have gone with Kang. Those two defined the Klingons almost as much as Spock and Sarek defined the Vulcans.

In TOS it's Kang. He is the only one who acts like a Klingon should act. Later on it is Kor, he is the only one who acts like an old Klingon should act.:klingon:

A Klingon as defined by what? They show distinctly different characters of a race. That makes the Klingons as a whole seem more complex. That's a good thing as opposed to being mostly the bikers of the galaxy as expressed throughout much of TNG, DS9 and ENT. And, yes, I know there were exceptions.

As an actual warrior with a sense of honor. Most other TOS Klingons, with the exception of Kor, were played as cowards and schemers. That might have been TOS's intentions, but I personally preferred them as a warrior race.

I almost voted for Kor, but it was a photo finish and I voted for Kang instead. He had great lines in The Day of the Dove, like "Only a fool fights in a burning house." My one favorite Kor line at the end of Errand of Mercy is Kirk says, there goes the war, and Kor replies, "A shame, Captain. It would have been glorious!"

I went with Kor, though Kang came a very very close second. While I liked the less than subtle warrior like Kang, I really liked the portrayal of Kor in Erand Of Mercy. He was sinister and yet also brutally efficent in his take over of Organia.

I dunno he always gave me the impression of a coiled up cobra with a wicked sneer observering his prey, just waiting for them to make a mistake.

After that it seemed each Klingon of TNG and beyond were just either pale copies of the templates of Kor or Kang. Don't get me wrong I love Martok on DS9 but Kang and Kor set the bar fairly high early on. :)

I like how Kor dislikes the Organians and respects Kirk. He gets some good lines, and Colicos (sp) is fun. Yeah, usually they're schemers, subverting less advanced people and tricking the Fed. Based on the common perception of the treacherous Commies?

Kor is the original, quintessential Klingon. Jon Colicos played him with relish. His exquisite diction, cunning, and joie de vivre made him one of the most interesting characters in all of Trek. In fact, he outshone Kirk in the episode.
