Ashes to Ashes Series 3 (may contain Spoilers)

And Wamdue you're forgetting the most important fact about CSOs, they're cheaper than coppers and isn't that all that really matters? :shifty:

Oh god, Blunket bobbies (or plastic plods, as I understand the actual the actual police call them). One more reason (among many) why New Labour doesn't deserve to win the election, even if the Cons don't either.
why are some people calling them CSOs, when I thought they were PCSOs?

I think that is pretty much the ending we all want to the show.
I think the culture shock from 2010 could finish Gene off:lol:

Lets face it he'd probably end up being arrested!
I think it would work best if Gene really was just something in Alexs mind, that she cant shake despite having woken up, he gives his opinon on her modern police force job, but no one else can see or hear him, saves him from getting in trouble.

Like that series where the ghost comes back, and only his best mate can see him, and they solve crime together, with remade a few years back by the BBC.

A fun if slightly rubbish show featuring the annoying Vic Reeves, the likeable Bob Mortimer and the wonderful Emilia Fox

Did anybody watch it last night?
I wonder why Ray and Shaz are seeing the stars? Are they trapped like Alex?
And What did Hunt say to the guy who had been shot.
I need some answers dam it.

Gene told us what he said... City will beat United.
I think Gene knows the truth, whatever that may be. Someone said they think he told him he'd do to him what he did to Sam.
Well Shaz and Ray are both the ones who had the Life on Mars moment, for want of a better term, so that links them, and Alex saw the stars first, so I'm thinking it's something to do with Alex.

I beginning to wonder is Sam dead.
Has it been said if their was a body?
I see the arrest last night of Gene Hunt Manchester friend/work colleague as the beginning of the end for Hunts universe. :(

Seems to me it's been clear since early on in Ashes to Ashes that wherever Alex Drake may be, it's a place with its own reality. In Life on Mars every scene involved Sam Tyler, which made it hard to determine whether there was any reality to the 1973 world beyond what Sam was experiencing. In A2A, we get a lot of scenes that aren't from Alex's perspective. Or from any one other character's perspective, for that matter.

Biggest problem with this season so far, with its emphasis on Alex trying to find out what happened to Sam, is that there's no mention of Annie. If she's still alive, Alex would be trying to get in touch with her, wouldn't she? I also wonder what happened to the chemistry that seemed to be developing between Alex and Gene last series; it doesn't seem to be there now.

Incidentally, I just watched the first episode of Life on Mars the other day for the first time in ages. It's surprising how relatively cozy everything has become, compared to just how dark and confusing everything was for Sam in the beginning.

I think we'd have heard about it by now if either Sam or Annie was going to be turning up in this series. BBC has gotten quite good at keeping things like that secret, but it only tends to extend to Doctor Who spoilers/guests.

As if we needed another layer of 'what-the-fuck-itude', how about Gene, burning Sam Tyler's jacket and police records, telling Alex that sometimes you just have to take a 'leap of faith'?

And why can Alex, Shaz and Ray all see those stars? What the hell is that about anyway? This show makes my head hurt it really does. Can you imagine if we still had to put up with the clown as well as all this!?

the Beeb did manage to hide Marian coming back for the Robin Hood finale. i never heard anything about it before it happened.

Well I'll spoiler this anyway, even though only my interpretation but you never know...

I think Gene knows that it isn't real, that he's a fictional character, and I think that's what he told the Manchester copper that sent him off the deep end, and I think he had to get his help to falsify evidence because I reckon Sam probably vanished before Gene's eyes (hence why Gene knows) I think Ray and shaz are seeing the stars because they're somehow managing to see beyond the reality of the situation as well.

Great episode by the way :techman: Is next week's the last one?
