What were the plans for Atlantis after Season 5?

ReadyAndWilling

Fleet Captain
hey guys, i'm not too sure if there's any chance of atlantis making a comeback, but does anyone know what the plans were for season 6?

the writers said S5 moved into another direction, and it did, which was great. S5 was the best season of the show.

could we have seen more of the 'Dark Asgard' in season 6?

where could the Wraith arc have turned?

i haven't seen what the crew had planned, but i'd love to know.

Information regarding Atlantis's potential sixth season can be found here and here.

But long story short, Atlantis would have returned to the Pegasus galaxy and continued the usual adventures there.

Those ideas sound way more fun than SGU. Wait why did SyFy cancel Atlantis again?

SGA was going nowhere IMO and am enjoing SGU alot more now after a slowish start.

SGA would have been more of the dreary same. SGU had at least the potential to be different. I was in favor of that notion initially but they've botched the execution of it and the casting so badly that I'd rather have SGA back at this point. :rommie: Oh well, it's not like I ever believed that the hacks they have running things could have pulled it off.

They can improve the writing all they want (gort knows it needs it) but without a total recasting of SGU, it's a lost cause. How could they get everything so completely wrong? With previous iterations of Stargate, at least they managed to hire a couple fun, snarky, charismatic actors in each cast.

SGA? That was some bad crap. Terrible on so many levels. I LOVE SGU and the slower more realistic pace its taking.

Say what you will about SGU, but at least it is clear that TPTB know what they want and have a direction for the show. SGA seemed to lack focus and it seemed as if the writers were making it up episode by episode with no clear plan.

^^
It felt that way after the first season, surely, but I thought the first year of SGA had a certain drive to it, especially in the final arc.

Also known as being lame and boring... the usual!

I mean really, having the ship city fly to Earth and then just leave the next episode is the dumbest idea since killing off Weir, having replicators everywhere and killing off the Asgard only to bring them back.

^^Yeah, it doesn't make sense at all. Supposedly the script of the sixth season's premiere is supposed to be modified to become the movie, if that ever happens.

If they do make it, I hope they change their mind and leave Atlantis on Earth.

In my mind Stlantis is on Earth and used for missions and such and the old SGC in now in the Pentagon as Universe makes it seem.
