According to Memory Beta, the Star Trek XI novelization features a line by Spock Prime, directed at Kirk in the ice cave on Delta Vega to the effect of "Just like in my universe, your Enterprise crew has come together in a time of great crisis".
This got me thinking - is there room for another TOS (prime universe) origin story?
I'm a fan of Enterprise: The First Adventure, and consider that the prime-'verse get-together. Although the main story was a little weak I loved the backstories given the crew, perticularly Sulu not wanting to be there (expanded upon in The Entropy Effect) and Janice lying about her age to enlist and get as far away from her hell-hole world as possible.
But that's not to say I wouldn't enjoy another, entirely different version of how Kirk and crew started their five-year mission, that took a different approach to E: TFA or STXI.
Anyone else?
