That's what makes this place so great - there's space for serious discussions and high-school humour. Sometimes in the same conversation

I won't lie, I have had some issues with the board over the last 11 years, both as a mod and as a poster. Overall though, yeah, I will say that it's been a good message board and an interesting experience.
I've been here for a decade, and I don't see myself leaving anytime soon, so clearly we're doing something right.
That's not to say that I've always been the biggest fan. There have been some times over the last 10 years that I haven't been happy with this place or the people here. For example, over the last 6 months or so, people here have gotten extremely bitchy.

Never been attached to a website like I am this one. The mods don't close threads on a whim, most everyone can spell, and there are not 50,000 subforums.

Well, I'm sorry but I'm going to be honest here for a sec.
This isn't the best board on the internet anymore. It used to be, a while back. It just feels like this place has become a bit dull lately. I've barely posted in MISC at all, and the forum I do post in is pretty much off a lot of people's radar (Raise your hands if you've even heard of the Sports forum if you currently don't post there regularly) and the overall feel of the board is not as good as it used to be. Don't get me wrong, it's still a nice board to come to (not to mention busy), but I've been going to another board (A sports, Hockey themed board that is bigger than this one) which feels a lot more active. I still come here because it's still decent, but my posting as been down significantly over time. That also has to do with busier life too.

I've been here for five years now (joined in February '05), but I mostly lurked for the first year or two. I didn't start getting more active until probably '07, but I wish I'd done it sooner. This place has definitely become my favorite board on the web. At first I'd signed up to talk about ENT (which was in the middle of its awesome fourth season at the time), but now I spend more time in the non-Trek areas.
