I started goofing around with some textures...
The lettering looks much larger in the render than it looks on my texture. I'll have to make it smaller. Also, I am thinking about ditching this style, and doing more of a Kelvin style lettering, like on my Constellation. What do ya'll think?

Wow, great work. I think many of us are seeing our "what-if" imaginings over the years come to life
Love the nacelles, the dome effects...awesome.
Can't wait to see the full on textured renders/wallpapers, with your wonderful spacescape backgrounds.

Much better. Now it's "lightly & gently used" as opposed to "rode hard & put away wet."

I guess, to me, if it's going to be beat up and dirty, I need a story behind it...maybe the wreckage of a Klingon ship in the background that it just got done fighting.
But if all I'm looking at it the ship by itself, the dirty look just doesn't make much sense.

Working on the bottom of the saucer...
When this is finished, the paneling isn't going to be nearly this pronounced. The way my new work lights are set up, it is getting tons of light from every direction. The grid is also a normal map, which doesn't show up as well in this scenario.

I'm not totally happy with the color of the boomerang yet, but I like them, otherwise.
Should the red stripe be thicker? It's the same thickness as the other red stripes.

I think the nacelle stripes need to be a bit thicker, I can barely make them out at a glance.

Since it is two separate parts, I did it like the pin stripes on a car, just cut it a little back on each side. I have another idea I'm fixing to try out... maybe it'll improve on this idea some...
