How many women has Kirk kissed/slept with?

Okay, Luther Sloan, you're not stealing from me without attribution anymore, but now you're stealing from Memory Alpha without attribution. I think you've failed to understand exactly what it is you're doing wrong. If you quote something from another source, you put it in a quote box or in quotation marks, and you provide a link or citation to the source of the quotations.

^Luther Sloan, you've quoted my words directly in your post without attributing them as quotes or distinguishing them from your own words. That's essentially plagiarism and is a violation of BBS protocol. I must insist that you either remove my lines from your post and rephrase them in your own words, or make it clear when you're quoting me and when you're not.

Christopher:

Do you make money off your posts that I don't know about? Really, man. I wouldn't care if you copied and pasted my posts. Seriously, in the grande scheme of things, people are not going to care if I did or not. Tell me. How does it harm you? In fact, I thought you would have been honored seeing I was imitating you.

Well, although I don't understand it, out of respect for your wishes I re-worded my post (as you already know).

Also, I did not fail to understand what you are trying to preach to me. The fact of the matter is I don't buy into your theory that I have to play by your rule book when it comes to posting. Now, if I was writing an article on a website or writing a book, that would be different. There is an element of money involved.

Now, if I was trying to get someone to read more within my post so they can learn something more about what I wrote, then I would leave a link to an article source. But I don't have to do it, though. There is no rule stating I have to do that.

I mean, I am not writing a wikipedia article here. I am posting on a forum. If people can't figure out where I got it from, that is their problem.

Please don't take this the wrong way and please have a good day.

Sincerely,

~J.

You're talking "raw" score. With a "scaled" score, he would get 4 pts for home runs, at least 2 pts for "ground rule doubles" (unless you want to reclassified some as triples), 1 pt for singles, and a half pt for a "walk".
So your "scaled" score would at the least be: 59.5
There probably would be an additional modifier if the pitcher (woman) was a "southpaw" (alien).

Kagan:

Now that's funny!

The nuKirk of ST09 doesn't really count because that's not the original TOS Kirk but an alternate universe Kirk.

Warped 9:

Actually an alternate timeline Kirk is not the same thing as an alternate universe Kirk. History is being re-written for the Original Kirk and not some Kirk in another dimension. So in my interpretation, it is still essentially the same Kirk but with a slightly different alteration in his history.

Side Note:

Oh, and I know I have separated Star Trek Enterprise into a different alternate time line to watch separately. But that's because it doesn't jive or make sense with the rest of the Original Prime Time Line. This alternate time line by JJ Abram's actually does.

And in "Mirror, Mirror" although "our" Kirk doesn't get there with Marlena I'm sure the Mirror Kirk got there with some frequency.

Well, in my opinion: Mirror Universe Kirk doesn't count in the scoring because he co-exists alongside the Original Kirk in another dimension. It is clearly meant to be a much different version of Kirk and not intended to be the Kirk that we have come to know and love.

At least that's my 2 cents worth, anyways.

Side Note 2:

Anyways, I am glad that you are enjoying the photos my friend. I hope others will find it entertaining and or useful, as well.

Those pictures just confirm what I've always thought - Janice Lester was the hottest babe ever on the show. None of those other ones come close.
Helen Noel, Areel Shaw, Andrea, Edith Keeler, Ruth and Drusilla.

Too Much Fun & Warped Nine:

Good choices, my friends. Here are my selections (if your interested)...

Miramanee
Rayna Kapec (Android)
Andrea (Android)
Helen Noel
Marlena (Mirror Universe Version)
Shahna
Gillian Taylor

Wrong. All the evidence I need is right in the film itself, but believe what you want.

Do you make money off your posts that I don't know about? Really, man. I wouldn't care if you copied and pasted my posts.

Whether an individual cares or not doesn't change the fact that it's an act of theft. This isn't about you or me, this is about the basic rules that apply to everyone. You're demonstrating a staggering ignorance of intellectual property rights and I'm trying to inform you of the standard, ethical procedure for quoting other people so that you don't continue to repeat the same mistakes.

Seriously, in the grande scheme of things, people are not going to care if I did or not. Tell me. How does it harm you? In fact, I thought you would have been honored seeing I was imitating you.

Get yourself a dictionary and look up the word "plagiarism." Hint: It's not something that a professional author like me would consider an "honor."

This post has been eliminated by yours truly to make peace not war. Hoping to be friends C.

Sincerely,

~J.

Well, if the world told you that rain was no longer wet, would you believe them?

I mean, just because dictionary.com says it is true or our very government says it is the law of our land, doesn't mean that those who wrote this rule or crated this law is always right. We the people have to also use our own minds and good judgement when it comes to what it is good and right.

I mean, speed limits are 35 but people never do exactly 35. A lot of them go over 5 miles over in a lot of places and usually don't get in trouble for doing so.

Plus, not every law or rule applies to every type of circumstance or situation either (unless stated otherwise).

I mean, if I were to go thru a every forum and see how many times someone said the same exact sentence or thing, I bet you there would be quite a few responses that were very similar or almost exact.

It's sort of like the saying... "There is nothing new under the sun". I mean, if you really think about it. I mean, really think about it. Nothing thought of is really original anyways.

Personally I don't believe copying and pasting a bunch of words on a forum is hurtful to anyone or is going to cause anyone to lose any money.

The whole point of stealing is to get some sort of value out of the thing that your stealing. There is no value on the words on a forum. So there is no actual theft that is taking place. Because the words within the thread have no value.

Now, if it was an official article on a website or a book, that is different because the words have value because there is money to be made off those entities.

I mean, that's sort of like someone stealing my falling nose hairs or someone stealing the dirt off my car.

Those things really don't have value to me.

I mean, do you go around wanting to sue someone (or cry plagiarism) every time they repeated something you said?

Words on a forum to me is a lot like putting actual live discussions down on paper. If someone repeats what I was saying, I won't bash them over the head and cry fowl. Really.
You are being ridiculously ignorant and callous over a simple thing such as common courtesy.

Warped 9:

Yeah, I apologize if I offended you or him. It was not my intent to be mean, cruel, disrespectful, or uncourteous in any way.

I merely pointing out that not everything in life is not so easily written in stone. And there was no actual harm or damages down by me copying and pasting a few parts of a simple post.

At least, I hope there wasn't.

:wtf:

But enough on this interesting debate.

Let's get back on topic (and forget this silly mishap on my behalf)...

^^ Fair enough. But all you had to do was says, "Oops. Sorry. Won't happen again." Anyone would have been cool with that.

Yeah, but see after I just corrected the mistake, I was corrected again (like it wasn't good enough or something). I consider that a form of debate or attack that needed to be challenged. You know. Sort of like a Klingon if he is honor was challenged or something.

But whatever. So before this thread becomes completely derailed or hijacked... Let's move on.

Side Note:

Oh, but before moving on completely, here are two videos that I would like to share (if anyone has been following this derailing debate)...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5XTSZ9TFk7A

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1ysoohV_zA

Thank you.

Side Note 2:

Also, one more thing I would like to add, too. Again, I don't want anyone in this thread or this forum for that matter to be offended by what I write or the way that I write it. I hope you understand my radical way of thinking and accept my deepest and I mean deepest sincerest apologies for being so Klingon (on occasion). I like to think I am a person who tries to lift people up rather than tear them down. I always try to have a smile when I meet people wherever I go and encourage them in whatever they want to do in life. So if you need some positive words or a ray of sunshine... please PM and I try to do just that (if you need it).

Thank you again for reading.

Sincerely,

~J.

Umm... Wow. :wtf:

I not only totally side with Christopher on this, I think you are really devaluing what anyone has to contribute if contributed in a forum setting.

You may see your contributions as little more than your fallen nose hairs or the dirt off your car, but some of us take great care in what we post, and people like Christopher are rightfully known for the quality of their posts.

Fortunately most people I've run across don't treat people's efforts that way, and even though I'm not a fan of wikis in general, they at least are very good at attribution.

I have been quoted (in completely different forums, on posts not related to Trek) by people and they took the time to make sure that people knew that I was the author and provided links back to my original posts. Wikipedia has referenced my sites for information and made sure to link back to my sites as the source of the information, and Memory Alpha has quoted one of my TrekBBS posts, attributed it to me and linked back to the original post. And other members of this forum have quoted me from completely different threads or credited me when using ideas they found unique.

That courtesy is very important to me and is why I take great efforts in what I post, and I imagine that the same is true for Christopher.

So just because you see no value in what you post, please don't apply the same low standards to the posts of others.

Thank you, Shaw. Your point was well made, as was Christopher's side of the argument, too. My original post has been edited with a credit link at the bottom, of which you can check out here...

http://trekbbs.com/showpost.php?p=3965684&postcount=13

I also eliminated the argumentative post you quoted as well.

Anyways, moving on, my friend...

Don't worry, hissy fits happen around here. They'll usually blow over. :techman:

Thank you, Green Shirt.

:)

30. Gillian Taylor

KirkGirl24GillianTaylorB-1.jpg

Gillian Taylor, PhD was the assistant director of the Cetacean Institute until 1986. Kirk travels back in time and runs into this woman during his attempt to save Earth by bringing back two humpback whales. After Kirk is close to succeeding in his mission, Gillian manages to travel along with Kirk to the future in his time. Later, she expresses her gratitude to Kirk and gives him a quick "side kiss" to the cheek before she embarks on her new job in the future.

Oh, and I was looking over Kirk's collection of women again, and I personally think if Shatner was to have a serious romance after Star Trek 6, it should have been Gillian Taylor. The chemistry they had together was just absolutely brilliant, if you ask me. Plus, at the time, they would have made a cute looking couple, too.

More than I have.
But probably less than I have.

`

I don't know if it counts however, Jim Kirk was trapped for eighty years in the endless series of fantasies that was the Nexus. How much quality tail did he get in there?

But didn't Guinan say something along the lines of from Kirk's point of view he only just arrived? If so, it was a case of Picardus Interruptus. Anyway, Kirk did say the barn was better than a bedroom with Antonia in it.

Don't ya just hate all those time travel and anamoly paradoxes? ;)

This thread is amazing.
Props to Luther Sloan and Christopher for their facts and figures.
