Not much in the list so I went with War of the Worlds.
(Don't shoot) :)

BANG!

Have you ever seen the 1953 version? That one is much better than Cruise's mess.

True. It says a lot that Dakota Fanning was able to throughly out-act the movie's lead star.

Then again, does that say more about the movie itself or more about Cruise's lack of acting ability?

I wouldn't have thought much of the 2005 version even if it had starred Patrick Stewart.

I voted "Thank You For Smoking" because it's the best of the list... but really, none of the above would have been a more appealing poll option.

Top Gun.

One of the awesomest movies of all time. And so damn quotable. Get it!

I remember watching it as a yoof when it first came out* and think it was a bit ... well ... camp?

*do you see what I did there?

The various bromances just add to the awesome, by providing hilarious subtext.

The gripping tale of a man struggling to come to terms with his own homosexuality.;)

I'm completely biased as I think it's a wonderful film, but I would go with Who Framed Roger Rabbit ?

How is that an inappropriate bias when the question basically boils down to "Which film do you think is most wonderful?"

Get Layer Cake with Daniel Craig. It's better than any of the movies you put in the poll.

I've been meaning to see that one. Unfortunately, the way the shelves are, it has to be a movie in the S-Z range. I can't do any further shifting because of the large Stargate & Star Trek box sets.

If you get Troy, I would suggest looking for the Directors Cut. I think it is superior to the theatrical version, because the extra scenes are not just filler and actually flesh out the characters more.
