The Eleventh Hour Clip 1

Amy is indeed a police officer. I read the official synopsis somewhere either on the website Doctor Who News or the Doctor Who Wiki that Amy is actually an
orphan
which i was surprised to find out.

Now I know it's from The Sun, but as the reporter who went to the press launch on Thursday actually has seen the episode, I'll trust what ever s/he has to say on the matter as what ever you'll find on any wiki is just subjection until the wider public has seen it on April 3rd.

Anyway, here's the section of the review that focuses on what Admiral Young commented on:

Amelia, we soon learn, turns out to be the infant edition of his soon-to-be new sidekick, Amy.

Fast forward 12 years and the Doc is back at the house with Amy now apparently a copper.

Well, she's not - we learn she is a KISSOGRAM.

I think I would have preferred her becoming a police officer as a result of her chance meeting with the Doctor with the "magical" police box. Especially because she presumably witnesses the Doctor getting into his "magical" police box and witnessing it magically disappear thinking the Doctor will be back in 5 minutes. I think it would feel more epic for that chance meeting having a major impact on her life and the direction it guided her towards. Having said that I haven't seen the episode and will reserve judgment until I have all the facts and see how it actually pans out.

Cool clip.

Didnt know bbc news had shown one.

I love the fact that The Doctor, only regenerating a few seconds ago, is still erratic. repairing the Tardis with some old rope and a five minute jump which in turn will turn into a few years where Amy bumps into him, i guess. I dont know, as i havnt read any reviews or synopsis so i can remain as spoiler free as possible.

Looks good though, Matt sold the role to me in his inaugural first few minutes, so im game.

:techman:

Me either.

I've read rumors that she is something called a "Kissogram", which I guess means it's closest they can make a stripper family-friendly?

Kissogram is a Kissing Telegram, I think it used to be kinda popular but I wouldn't think it is any more.

Isn't the rope so he can drop into the tardis as it's on it's side?? Looks like it could be a funny scene. :techman:

Well that's a little disappointing. Like the poster above I would have liked Amy to be inspired to become a police officer after meeting the Doctor when she was young as well. Oh well. It is still going to be interesting to see how they meet again.

In "Time Flight" (a fifth Doctor Story) the TARDIS is put on it's side in the cargo hold of Concorde. The Doctor gets in, and flicks a switch and the internals swing around so that it's right way up even though the external Police Box is on it's side. Of course this was back when you rarely saw through the door to the outside world, unlike now.

Two things make me think that won't happen this time round: a) it originally happened in Time Flight (which was crap and therefore should be wiped from history), and b) the TARDIS is damaged and so that system probably doesn't work anyway.

Then there there is the parralal to the fifth Doctor's first story Castrovalva with the Tardis getting damaged, losing some of it's interrior and sorta lying on its side (although not completly horizontal) .

Yeah, noticed that on the second viewing. :techman:

A few of my mates made the same mistaken obsvervation also.

I was so in awe that i wasnt actually paying attention to that part, i first assumed he was tieing the door to the frame or something.

Yeah, i hoped the same to be honest.

Either that or maybe even a fancy dress party maybe, but a kissogram isnt something that i wouldve first thought.

But well find out in a weeks time, wont we. :techman:

One thing that comes to mind also, is the scene in Monsters Inc. where Mike and Sully are looking for Boo's door, and Mike opens a door laying on its side, drops in feet first and then stops in mid air and then lands on his back and utters "Thats wierd"
