Your favorite Bashir/Garak moments?

The scenes between Bashir and Garak are always very enjoyable. Do any of you have any particular favorites?

I have two (so far).

From "Improbable Cause," when the two are discussing Shakespeare. Garak then noticed Julian is eating very quickly, to which the topic shifts to which Garak points out that humans eat as if someone is going to come along and snatch the food off their plates.

I just love when he says to Julian, "Doctor, are you in a hurry?"

The best thing to come out of this one, however, is when Garak points out that he has a lot of time at the shop. Julian suggests that work on the trousers he dropped off last week. Garak simply says, "Eh, tomorrow." A few minutes later, Garak's shop is bombed, Julian finds him lying on the floor injured and he says, "Doctor, I'm afraid your pants won't will have to wait." - or something to that effect.

Just, plain great.

The other moment comes from "The Search, Part II."

When Garak fools the Jem'Hadar soldiers that he is taking Sisko, Dax, and Bashir hostage - only to shoot them down. A moment later, Garak is shot and says to Julian, "Doctor, I'm afraid I won't be able to have lunch with you today."

Their first scene (that homoerotic subtext was pretty strong in that scene), the boy who cried wolf scene and the one after the Klingons beat up Garak in WotW. Their scenes were usually among the better scenes in the series, even the ones not on this list.

Garak was such a fantastic character and so wonderfully brought to life by Andrew Robinson. There were many scenes that were so well written I actually would pause the episode and say, "That is just amazing writing. They would NEVER reach anything near that level on Voyager!" Seriously, I have said that so many times during Garak moments!

The "Boy Who Cried Wolf" scene, naturally.

The scene in By Inferno's Light when we learn that Tain is Garak's father. I loved the unspoken interplay between Bashir and Garak when it's understood that Garak trusts Bashir enough to reveal something so personal to him.

Oh hey, I forgot about "The Boy Who Cried Wolf,"

I was laughing for a while after first seeing that and usually tend to forget about that scene everytime I see that episode, so it's almost like I'm seeing it for the first time again.

"You should never tell the same lie twice."

Pretty much all of The Wire, in particular the final scene:

BASHIR: What I want to know is of all the stories you told me, which ones were true and which ones weren't?
GARAK: My dear Doctor, they're all true.
BASHIR: Even the lies?
GARAK: Especially the lies.
But my favourite line of Garak's comes from the famous Boy Who Cried Wolf scene.

BASHIR: They broke seven of your transverse ribs and fractured your clavicle.
GARAK: Ah, but I got off several cutting remarks which no doubt did serious damage to their egos.

Yes, yes!

Garak deserved his own show.

The Boy Who Cried Wolf, of course. Brilliant exchange.

"My dear doctor- they're all true." "Even the lies?" "Especially the lies!"

And one I haven't seen here yet: The scene where Bashir asks if there's anything he can do for Garak while he's gone, and Garak asks him to go into a secret compartment and find a data rod, and if Garak doesn't return, to take it...and eat it :shifty:. Bashir is taken aback, but then says, "you're joking", 90% statement, but still 10% question, I think, and then Garak says ":) Yes. I am.:):)".

Two of my favorites as well. Garak started out as a charact er I really was apprehensive about, and he became one of my favorite characters.:cardie:

I love his analysis of Human eating habits and the dark subconscious fears of Humanity that they revel...

Pretty ironic coming from a Cardassian, no? But then they are our cousins after all. :rommie:

Oh yes, good one, TD. I forgot about that wondeful scene. My mother and I actually discussed that scene in a rather heart-to-heart conversation we once had.

And what conclusions did you draw as to what our predication to wolf down our food mean for us former tree climbing hairless chimps and our rather disturbed psyches?

Then I shall pry no further my friend.

Does not A snitch in Time count as a favorite Bashir/Garak moment?
