8.8 Earthquake in Chile

Speaking of previously mentioned seismic activity, there was a 4.4 earthquake in centrla Oklahoma at 4:22 today. No major damage but it's the biggest tremor in Oklahoma in a very long time. Davenport is a teeny little town in Lincoln county south of Stillwater.

They mentioned the recent spate of seismic activity in Oklahoma that last couple of weeks. No one can explain it.

New Zealand seems to have come through it unscathed, though additional waves are apparently expected in the next 6 to 12 hours. A lot of people have ignored tsunami warnings and have gone down to the beaches, all I can say is Darwin will be having a field day when these retards are killed if there ever is a big one here. I still haven't heard anything from Japan, which is where the waves are headed to next. I can only hope they're pulling through okay.

I've been watching Channel 13 in Chile via CNN video. Saddest words I keep seeing repeatedly is 'Perdio Todo'. :(

You Tube seems like it's been hiccuping and buffering a lot today. I bet that has a lot do with people getting and sending info over the site.

I'm glad it's coming in handy. Is Twitter overloaded?

^ Haven't looked at twitter or youtube today.

From the Sydney Morning Herald website - An outgoing tide has abated the threat of a tsunami plaguing Australia's east coast but warnings to stay out of the water remain in place.

Surges of up to 50 cm were recorded here.

And there was also earthquake in Argentia earlier today.

That's quite sad. On the bright side, Chileans were better prepared and generally have better infrastructure compared to the Haitians, who suffered a lot more casualties.

My son and I felt that sucker, and I'm in far east Norman. *BOOM* - the house shuddered, and I swear it felt like the house moved an inch or so. First time in my life I've ever felt an earth tremor.

The death toll now is at least 723. Over 300 bodies were found in nearby Constitucion.
