I just need to lock myself away for a full week to make some real progress in the game. 45 minutes here, 1 hour there just simply doesn't cut it...

I made captain last week and have been enjoying my new Galaxy-class ship since then.

You captains and your damn Galaxy-class ships! :klingon:

Sorry, still a little sore after getting my new ginormous Heavy Cruiser last night at the starbase and proudly beaming aboard her for the first time... only to see a Galaxy-class parked right above dwarfing me.

I'm Lt. Com Level 8 and it's a chore getting higher levels for some reason. I see others hitting Captain and they started when I did.

Well if it's any consolation prize at least all three of the heavy cruiser's variants look good, with the exploration cruiser you get a choice between the Galaxy or one of two fugly ships.

QFT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After hitting Commander I decided to start a new character. While Yezro Prex was a Tactical officer, I started a new character: a Klingon Science office named Ja'Rok. I started him today and already I'm 12 pts shy of hitting Lt. 5. I can't wait to see more of the science abilities.

this may sound daft but I've noticed the game seems to patch/ be down for maintenance every so often (twice this week) I was wondering if this is normal?

^If you wanna go full science, I'd recommend flying Birds of Prey. They have universal BO-slots.
The science slots of cruisers and Raptors don't allow for a lot of science BO-abilities.

The down time in the early morning when I play the most is kind of annoying. Sucks when you have to quit in the middle of a long mission.

I'm actually playing as the Federation. I filled out the survey on the STO website and used to points to buy the Klingon character.

My ship is the USS Curzon Dax :)

If anyone is interested they are aparently going to add a death penalty at some point, which either means some people will get annoyed and drop it or Cryptic will actually have to stop adding battleships asopponents in missions people at less than commander rank.

^ Or better, they could not have 15 battleships and escorts sitting at the entry spawn point in Deep Space Encounters. That gets very annoying very fast, which is why a DP is not a smart move if they implement it now. Way, way too many bugs.

Well I reread the list and them also mentioned adding a difficulty slider, so that could help. Here is the article where all this is said

Oh, also I read somewhere that they are planning to add more ship interiors, YAY!

I'm okay with a difficulty slider so I can keep the death penalty where it it is now.

At this point, I'm going to have to divorce my wife and hide in the janitor's closet at the hospital where I get my brain cancer treatments and play the game on my laptop on the hospital's Wi-Fi to get any more progression out of this game!

Real life is taking over my game life!!! :-(

Real life is more important, though you need the game life to escape from it all sometimes...
Though reading a good book helps as well...

I'm trying to write a book, but I'm waiting for my friends to send their feedbacks back before I can continue.

I just wish I could turn in a permission form to Cryptic or something.

"Dear Cryptic, I was only actually able to play x amount of days last month due to other commitments getting in the way. Your server logs will confirm this. Can I get the unused days credited back to my account for future use? Thank you!"

:-)

You learn something new everday abot this game..

For example I didn't know you could duell on Andoria.
So if you want to test your skills against allied players you can do that there in the Ushaan.
