Welcome...nice name from a nice character!
You'll be able to get an avatar once you've hit 50 posts and 2 weeks, I believe.
So I gather from the name that you're a fan of Cardassians? (And Bajorans?)

I'm more a fan of Ziyal than of Cardassians or Bajorans in general. With her history, she could've been a real mess, but instead she turned out strong and artistic and, as you said, nice. I enjoyed the relationship between her and Kira.
I enjoy the characters, the plots, the ethical and political and philosophical stuff, and SF concepts like time-travel or alternate universes, but a lot of the technobabble goes over my head and I'm not even trying to understand it.So, female perspective......... does the technical/psuedo science stuff get in the way of the plotlines and characters, or do you enjoy both?
I'm female, and I have no problem with the tech stuff. To me, it's all part of the universe of the story. My interest is in character, even above plot, but neither character nor plot can be shown to their best advantage if the world of the story isn't realized. To me, the tech stuff is as important as, say, the ocean would be to a mermaid story.
