Explain your user name!

Kirby is my dog. When I registered I froze and couldn't think of a cool user name so I looked around and Kirby the wiener dog was sitting at my feet.
Same here

Actually, I had a couple lined up but they were taken (even though I've never seen them being used during my lurking days and since i signed up four years ago).

Mine is the title of a science fiction short story by Terry Bisson. I liked the story, I liked the way the name sounded. Pretty simple. If I only had half the cleverness my screen name conjures...

I picked this as my IRC name 11 years ago because I liked the word. Since then I have used it on numerous forums and lists and blogs and.. it's me. Some people call me it IRL now.

It's a nickname from high school. Since I'm in an aviation organization that once flew them and I enjoy studying Vietnam era aviation I decided to use the handle in honor of the men that flew O-1s as FACs.

Way back when I first got my own email address, I was trying to think of something cool and unique. What I came up with was archery_guy1701 ('archery' because I enjoy shooting traditional archery, '_guy' for shats and giggles, and '1701' for Star Trek). I've used a variation of that name on every board I've been on, and by the time I got here I decided that "archeryguy1701" looked better than "archery_guy1701", so that's the poster you've ended up with today.

My name is my re-enactment name which originally came from a character in The Keltiad series by Patricia Kenneally-Morrison. I changed the spelling slightly.

I go by my first name on most of the other boards I'm on, but since I joined this place before all of those...back in the days when I thought the internet was going to rape me, I went here by the_andorian. I didn't think it was horribly unique here on a Trek board...and typing the _ when I logged in was a pain in the ass. I also couldn't think of any good holiday variations on it for the holiday name changes, which lead me to change it to Major Chord late last year. That ties in with my love of music, and it's easy to come up with holiday variations. So far I've used Minor Chord (music written in a minor key is usually very spooky, or depressing) for Halloween, and A Very Merry Chord for Christmas. It also allows me to use musically relevant avatars. :D
