You haven't landed your perfect woman???

I don't know what gals are thinkin'...I get why they are put off by me...but you always struck me as a stand up guy.

Well, to be fair to all the wonderful ladies, I haven't really put as much effort into looking. I've got a lot on my plate, and making time for a social life hasn't been a priority, although I think it should be.

I enjoy reading everyone's personal facts; although I have to admit, it would be a much more interesting read if it wasn't a matter of "filling in the blanks." Some people state their occupation, marital status, hobbies and interests, favorite drinks, favorite food, favorite music, et al. Yes, these are all very interesting, and there's nothing wrong with those, but how about something deeper, more thought-provoking?

How people chose to define themselves is often more interesting and telling then the content of the definition. What could be more deeper and thought-provoking then learning what each individual thinks are their defining qualities?

I was wondering if Kestra was going to use our answers as a psychological experiment showing how different people reveal different things

For me, well we only had three items to list and I'm not the multi-tasker TorontoTrekker is ;)

1. I have Alopecia, and thus have 90% hair loss. The little hair I had on my head Iv just shaved off, so I could quite easily play Ilia in Star Trek the Motion Picture.

2. I have leaky gut syndrome, which causes chronic fatigue, false allergies and 23 other symtpoms.

3. I can play the orchestral flute, sing, and read music.

1. i have a black, female cat who lost an eye at the end of last year, but is still a bundle of fun.

2. i work in a newsagents

3. my awesome is so blinding i can be seen from space.

1. I'm married (some know that) but this is actually my second time around. This time = great. First time, not so much...
2. I've got two sons from that 1st. marrage, the oldest is 24 and the youngest is 20. Both are in college.
3. I own and really enjoy riding my motorcycle (weather permitting).

3) I have a B.A. in English and Theatre & Film Studies -- and I have no idea what to do with it.

I know how you feel. Sometimes I wonder if studying wasn't a waste of time and money. At least it really didn't help me to find a job afterwards.

I LOVE this!!!

3) I can send bricks to sleep via hypnosis.

THIS TOO!!!!!

capcal, does kitty wear an eyepatch?

no, but i did say she should have one and a pirate hat at the time.

How 'bout a glass eye? With lasers.

And a tiny little parrot for her tiny little shoulder!!

Same here!

I love this board. It really is filled with the wittiest people i have ever known! No matter what mood I may be in when i log on, i always log off with a smile on my face. :)

1. Even though I'm very anti-organized religion and all it's annotations, I've yet to exit the Swedish church. Since if I one day do get married, I want it to be in a church out in the Swedish archipelago. Even though I don't believe in God or having him bless my marriage, I want to be married there. It's like the one conservative note I have in me.

2. I love working with film and would love to one day work as a film editor full time. However I am likely never to do so because of my ability to suck it up and do intense manual labor without complaining. That and there's really no jobs in film these days.

3. Even though I'm now a big car guy and love driving, I was terrified when I was learning how to drive. Mostly that I'd kill someone.
3. I have a dark sense of humor.

You know, this one has always intrigued me because you've mentioned it before but you always come across so sweet and wholesome on the board.
 I get that a lot -- all my life in fact. Not only do I come across as wholesome (and sometimes even, naive), I look all sweet and innocent too. The truth is I'm much more jaded and cynical than I appear.
I'm the same way. I'm kind, polite, sweet and take care of people, but I've got darker side that people feels clashes with the rest of me. I've been learning to let it out a bit and toughen up over the last few years. And for some reason I'm much more comfortable with gore in movies these days (shit like Hostel and the Saw movies excluded). As to how comfortable, me, bro and my cousin where the guys who laughed and applauded at it at points in District 9.

So what kind of education have you got? Is editing movies just a hobby or have you properly learned it? If you haven't learned it yet why don't you take course? Have you ever considered to work as a freelancer? It's true, jobs in film are rare these days, but it might help if you can show some projects that you have finished.

While on a run I throw worms off the road and into the grass when I see them stuck squirming and writhing after a rain. It bothers me to see creatures suffer.

I was inches away from being hit by a truck when I was a teenager. I stepped out of the way just a blink before it passed by, and almost felt it brush my arm. The driver never saw me.

I love workshops, the kinds that are filled with various nuts and bolts, nails and washers and naked light bulbs dangling from a cord, along with all the tools one can imagine...and grease. I love grease.

I know how you feel. Sometimes I wonder if studying wasn't a waste of time and money. At least it really didn't help me to find a job afterwards.

Oh, but don't you feel that studying itself was worth it? All the new things you learned, all the personal experiences. The fact that you did something you wanted to do. (I am, of course, assuming that that's the case.)

As for me:

1. I hum. But not some melody, only this one note mmmmmm. I do it subconsciously, but only when no one is around. Whenever I notice that I am doing it, I stop. It annoys me. Two minutes later I notice that I am doing it again. I don't know why.
2. When this thesis is done, I plan on having a break down and cry all day. My tears will be out of coffee.
3. I have no time! Why are you sucking me into this?! Aiiiii!*

* Thank you for diverting my thoughts a little with this thread.
