So this is basically a Nu-Trek D-7? When was the original concept drawn-up?

A few updates before I head to bed...

I think I might actually be able to finish it this time.![]()
That color scheme and textures look fantastic!

Sushi!)
It looks like we have a snow day tomorrow (imagine that, in Florida!) so I expect to get this done over the weekend...I never thought about it that way.Outstanding, yes! You know, your models have such a great attention to small details, "greebles", patterns, textures...etc. You never over-or under do them. They always remind me of the "look" of classic, great ILM shooting models. That's what really makes them stand out...
Looking forward to more.![]()
I know alot of guys that build tons more detail in than I do, and sometimes that comes out looking fantastic. Sometimes it looks overbuilt. I'm very glad that you think I strike a good balance.
Thanks.Hey Mad, you still working on this? I had some thoughts about the vertebrae...one thing I played with was Nu BSG "ribs" along the neck, and all over the place...(I never could get it to work) another was reminiscent of the 2001 Discovery, having those "vertebrae" sections continue along the long klingon neck...perhaps something in the middle to break up the look, like Discovery's antenna module. (a weapon pod/turret?) Anyway, wonderful work, love the textures.
Not sure what those "vertebrae" are for... but they do look neat.
Thanks.Possibly something similar to the "surrounded" concept in "The Enterprise Incident".
This model (and your compositions, let's not undervalue them!) looks great!
