So, what was the blizzard of 2010 like, granpa?

also closed (??!!??), as was, apparently, the local Wal-mart (shocking).

I walked over to the Fair Lakes Walmart during the storm on Saturday. It was the only store that was open in that entire mall during the storm, as far as I could tell.

Finally made it down to my car today after not bothering following the first storm.

Whew.

I will say this -- you are persistent and industrious. I would have said, "Fuck it" and not bothered until the streets were cleared.

 These are not words that are often used to describe me.

Well, it's parked at a meter, and while they're not ticketing this week, I'm going to have to grab a spot on the main road this weekend to avoid tickets next week. I figured I'd better get it cleared before the lovely top coats of ice really got impossible.

It's been covered up for several months, and I'm going to get it sand-blasted in any case. A little snow is nothing compared to the cancerous rust that's eaten away at it for the past 30+ years.

Doesn't keeping it covered for long periods of time allow moisture to become trapped under the cover, leading to more rust?

^^^ The tarp doesn't completely cover the openings where the doors used to be. A good wind blowing through keeps it well ventilated. Besides, the floorboards are so bad right now, the whole thing will need to be sand blasted anyway. Cutting out an extra inch here and there isn't any more bothersome that what's already needed.

A cool timelapse of the weekend storm in Baltimore:
