Manolo Blahniks!

nacelle

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
Does anyone have a pair of these? Or more than one pair?

Kim Cattrall is doing a play at a theatre near where i live so being a big fan of Sex and the city i may have to go see it, but i wish i had a pair of Manolos to go see it in!
But if i had a pair should i go see a play in Manolos?

When i get some money i may get a pair, i always have to go drool in the Manolo store in the Wynn in Vegas whenever i go!

In my wildest dreams I have a walk-in closet full of Manolo's displayed behind glass . . . then I wake up and slide into my Great Northern Snow up to yer knees Boots . . . *sighs*

Kim Cattrall in Private Lives? Go ~ Manolos or not! I tried to get tickets for my birthday but none left. She is suppose to be really good on stage and a Noel Coward play will be most enjoyable ;)
Go and if you see any tickets for March 15th let me know ~ the opera can go whistle, or warble!

I could never drop that kind of money on shoes, and I certainly wouldn't be able to wear them! The play sounds interesting though; you should go.

I managed to get a ticket so am going to see it!
Still wish i could go in Manolos though, but i dont think i could walk in heels like those!

The theatre usually has standby tickets on the day if you are willing to queue up early enough.

You could always compromise with a pair of Jimmy Choos at H&M? Much more reasonable and still stunning.
I may well try on the day, we'll be in London anyway.
Hope you enjoy it and do post a review :)

As a mere admirer rather than wearer (damn my gender! ;) ), Manolos are very pretty of course, but I think Louboutin and Chanel tend to be more elegantly shaped and Prada are more daring. I'd put Manolos alongside Choos, though of course there are enough lovely examples from each brand to make all this a rather academic set of distinctions.

Manolos and Choos on average seem a bit more lively and often innocently pretty, whereas Louboutin, Chanel and Prada tend on average to be more about elegance, mixed with overtones of power, status and sex.

I dont know much about shoes, i tend to collect bags for different occasions, the odd expensive but not major brand name bag! However i love some of the Manolos in the Vegas store so if i got a pair it would be a one off purchase only to be worn on special occasions assuming that i can actually walk in them of course!

The most expensive pair of shoes I own are Sperry topsiders. Even my dress shoes are less expensive. I love being a guy. :p

Being a guy rocks. I think the most i ever spent on a pair of shoes was $120. I almost died when i spent that much but my old shoes died on me so i needed a new pair.

We do all know that these types of shoes are not meant to be walked in don't we  They are, as Holdfast knows, to be looked at and admired, not trotted about in.
And if an evening deserves such a beautiful boot/shoe, then taxis must be taken and no more that a 10 foot walk will be endured!
These shoes are pieces of art not walking boots!

Then what's the point of having an expensive, high-end shoe if you can't wear it?

I just don't understand fashion.

Honey, of course you wear them ~ you just don't walk in them  ~ you sit on a chair, preferably high and at a bar, and twiddle your ankle showing off the rest of your sexy leg ;)

Reading the OP was like reading another language. After two or three posts I realized we were talking about shoes. I think the most expensive pair I own is $30 from Payless ShoeSource....

I almost bought myself a pair of Marc Jacobs heels a couple of years ago- originally $500, marked down to $75! I should have bought them...they were beautiful.

But Manolos? Don't like 'em that much.

I'm a purse girl more than shoes, anyway.

I wouldn't get a pair of Manolo's just for the sake of having a pair of Manolo's and I say this while owning a few pairs. Go with what looks best on your foot, feels comfortable (yes, heels can be comfortable if they fit well) and fits your personal style and lifestyle.

If you're interested in acquiring a good pair of shoes though I would recommend starting with a basic black or brown pump. Pumps look good on just about anyone can be dressed down with jeans, dressy enough for an evening out or professional enough for an interview or meeting. More bang for the buck. :)

Go to a good shoe store, find someone knowledgeable and try on pumps from a variety of designers. Chances are the designer that makes the pumps that feel the best on your feet is also going to have other styles that will work for you.

So they're like super uncomfortable dress shoes? Got it. ;)

:techman: Men do this too. Man was a 'stuck in the mill' Doc Martin shoe guy. He thought they were smart, and polished them well. But for the first month of a new pair, pain ensued and many plasters were lost! When the snow came... (Oh I'm so going to start a novel with that) and he starting slipping and sliding, he broke tradition and bought a pair of hiking boots and now marvels at the comfort.

All my frivolous boots/shoes are Ebay specials. I could not condone spending a months rent on a pair ~ I'd love to, but I'd be haunted by red letters for months after :(

Oh you should have. That's one of those times that regret is a total bummer
