Put very simply, Shatner's performance as James Kirk is an American icon. Kirk was (and is) everything we wanted from a leader: strong, decisive, willing to listen, honest, and brave. Given all the different writers who worked on TOS over three years,only a superior talent could make such qualities come throught time after time. Did i say 'icon"? actually Captain Kirk is more than that....he is a touchstone.

Me too.Have you ever seen Shatner's Raw Nerve?It's William Shatner's talk show on Biogrophy Chanel.Here while back Shatner was interviewing Leonard Nimoy.I thought it was great seeing both toghter.Of course it was an intrview from last year,but it was great seeing both toghter.I think it would be great if he interviews the actors from last year's movie.What do you think?

I've never had a beef with Shatner. Yeah, he's done stuff Im not crazy about or interested in but what actor hasn't? And he has an offbeat sense of humour that not everyone gets. Some people don't like or get along with him? So tell me something new particularly in the entertainment industry.

In my books Shatner IS Kirk and Chris Pine is a nobody punk playing pretend with zilch credibility.

A lot of people have said that TWoK is Shatner's best performance as Kirk. Bullshit. Shatner has so much good work in TOS that it's no contest.
