And like the 911, a Corvette hasn't radically changed in appearance in 42 years, since the introdruction of the C3 in 1968.
Weeeeell, I'd say if you said C4 I'd be inclined to agree. The C3 is more of a crossing over generation. Incidentally my favorite looking Corvette generation.
'68 C3
'85 C4
'99 C5
'10 C6
'67(C2) to the '68(C3) was the last "drastic change" in the overall look and shaping of the car.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not hating on either car. I've driven my fair share of Corvettes over the years, (ZR1 still the favorite), I just found in funny that your complaint of the 911 "looking the same" and your comparison to a Corvette.
The point is, when you've got an "super car" there's something to be said about evolution over revolution.
I still think there's a bit of difference between C3 and C4, while from C4 onwards it's very much a similar car, biggest case in point being the latest switch.
It's just that the 911 the difference is like almost C4 to C6, it's a very small difference.
I kinda figured out finally what bugs me about the 911. It's very German. Very few German cars get my heart beating, Audi R8 is one (at least stylingwise). I'm just more of a American car guy, more of a muscle car guy then a super car guy.
I don't want the greatest performing thing on the road. If I wanted that I'd get a motorcycle. I want to recapture the magic of my youth riding with dad in his old american muscle cars with rumbling V8s and lots of burnt rubber. But I don't want to lose the sportyness of my Saab so the Vette works for me, as does the new Camaro.
But isn't a lot of fun to be able to discuss this?
EDIT: The Gallardo is sex! It's ludicrious Italian overpriced sex, but still sex. On wheels!
I disagree. Italian cars are sexy when they are ugly and pointy and look like they could fall apart any second, not when they look
German.
Something like this:
Or this:
Well the Countach is a classic, no denying that! The F40...I'm just more a Lambo guy when it comes to Italian cars. That being said the F40 looks rather cool.
I ride a bicycle and would continue to do so even if I won the lottery.
So let you don't drive, and yet you've on several occasions jibed about me liking American cars? I rest my case.
EDIT: Okay so bro is trying to figure what car he wants for a first car. We've found nice alternative with the older Saab 9-3 Coupe Aero, but what he really wants is RWD. So this is the list:
RWD
Coupe
Decent power at least
Reliability
Not costing an arm and a leg to buy
Manual
Works in winter
Any suggestions?
