NFL Football 2009

What????? He left? Did Carroll want to jump ship before sanctions hit? Sooner or later they're gonna get nailed by the NCAA. There's been too much flagrant rule breaking.

It's not official yet.

What I had read before was reporting it as if it were a done deal. Now, I'm seeing other reports that say what you just did - that's NOT a done deal yet.

But just for argument's sake, what do you think? Would it be good for him to leave? Good for the school or the Seahawks?

It could be good for the Seahawks. Pete's record at the pro level is not very impressive. He really seems a college guy to me.

As for USC, I think he'd be leaving them in the lurch, especially if sanctions are coming. That would leave a very bitter taste in my mouth, despite all the great success he's brought to the program.

Go Dallas. Hey, anything to beat Philadelphia. Once his teammates voted that "courage" award to Vick, Philadelphia officially went on top of my shit list. Crash and burn, Philly.

Did you hear Vick's interview after winning his "award"? He went on about overcoming adversity and perseverance to get to where he is, and how tough it would be for others to walk in his shoes. Um, hello, you did it to yourself! A single mother working three jobs to raise a crack-addicted child because her husband is in prison, she can say "try walking in my shoes." You can't!

God. Not even a fun game to watch. Philly has just bent over and taken it. I was amused by what one of the commentators said earlier, "This season, Dallas has owned Philly. Philly has owned the Giants. The Giants have owned Dallas. Everybody owned Washington."

RANT!

God I hope the Jets get destroyed by Indy...

Rex Ryan saying they should be favored for the Superbowl...

WHY?!

WHY?!

What have you done? I'll grant them, they beat Cincy today...good for them. But other then that? The Indy win? Indy Tanked. Last week against Cincy? They didn't care.

I swear people give Belichick shit (even before the whole spygate thing) about being grumpy and never revealing anything, but I would rather have him, never mind the football credentials, then that fat fuck...

RANT OVER!

Go Pats tomorrow!

Then good job, they deserve it, since they will have beat the odds.

But seeing Ryan try to thump his chest, and proclaim how great they are, after they have proven nothing, is insane.

Why am I not surprised he has a "poor me" attitude? He'd already overcome adversity to get to the NFL and he threw it away because he couldn't let go of his homeboys from the hood.

Um, hello, you did it to yourself!

And to the dogs he admitted killing himself, some by electrocution. *Dorian pets the sweet stray dog she adopted who was literally skin and bones wandering the neighborhood, now a happy little Hannah who still loves people in spite of being abandoned during the winter and nearly starving :( Fuck Vick. If Hannah had been abandoned where he was she'd have been used for target practice for the fighting dogs.

A single mother working three jobs to raise a crack-addicted child because her husband is in prison, she can say "try walking in my shoes."

You got that right. Now remember, it's Vick's teammates who felt he deserved that award for courage and voted it to him. His teammates just love him, God bless them. Aaaaaawwwww, did Dallas kick their asses tonight? So sorry about that.

I have some really good 'contacts' who work with NFL SIRRIUS. The reason no one says anything bad about the guy? Because several OTHER NFL players have bet on dog fights (and maybe even still do). I hear that Sports Illustrated may actually be working on a story that will expose this in the near future)

Wow. That would explain a great deal. I hope they write the story and blow it wide open. Anybody who bets on those horrible fights should be exposed to the public. Good old (incompetent) Donovan McNabb sure was quick to go to bat for Vick. Makes me wonder big time. I'm sorry, there's something wrong with someone who could bet on those things and feel nothing. Just the other day there was a pit bull in Oklahoma City who attacked a woman who was saved by her own German shepherd. The shepherd lost one of his legs but he survived. The pit bull in question turned out to have been a dog used in dog fighting, then just set loose on the streets. The vets who examined it said the dog had known nothing but misery its whole life. All it knew was that humans would abuse it and to be afraid of other dogs. :( The woman was interviewed by the paper. She said he had nothing but sympathy for the dog that attacked her and her pet, that there were no inherently bad dogs--only terrible people. She loves pit bulls herself. She could have been killed and so could her pet, but she still felt for a dog that could have torn her apart. How is it a person who was victimized can still feel but some people bet on those horrible fights and turn a blind eye to the abuse they see first hand? I hope all those players are exposed and humiliated. Sure could bring up some thorny issues of race, though. Even Whoopi Goldberg on the view said that, while she didn't excuse the behavior, that dog fighting was part of the urban culture many blacks are brought up with.

How have they "proven nothing"? They have the #1 defense and the #1 rushing attack, they made the post-season and won a game with a rookie coach and a rookie QB. :vulcan:

Oh, and what team do you think should be favored to win the Superbowl, by the way? Hmmm?

I would say the Chargers. The way they have played throughout the season, and the roll they have been on, I think, puts them in. Of course the popular pick will be the Colts though.

They have proven nothing. They are in the playoffs because the Colts and the Bengals didn't care the last two weeks of the regular season. I mean the Colts were beating them pretty solidly, and ready to break away in the game, until they pulled Manning.

Listen, Im not blaming the Jets for their situation. They were handed it, and they took advantage, and DID beat the Bengals today. However, when they all of a sudden act like they are the team to beat, and wonder why they weren't getting credit for beating the Colts, its laughable.

Who is a lower seed? RAVENS or JETS??

The Bengals suck. How did they even get to the play-offs?

They might be good in time as long as Benson manages to stay out of jail, but anyone expecting them to go far this year clearly lives in Cincinnati.

Didn't think Philly would get their asses kicked like that though.

Go Jets, go Cowboys! :)
Unfortunately I didn't make it all the way through the second game because of the inhuman kick-off time (;)), but the game was pretty much decided in the first half anyway it seems.

I hope today's games are more exciting.
