No I'm telling you that if you want to be faithful to the comics then that's what you get. Ferris folded under Carol, she set up a small airline, it folded. If she's suppose to be a great businesswoman, there is no evidence in the comics for it.
Her greatest accomplishments in the comics was looking hot (if you like that sort of thing) in a g-string.
The actual details of her comics career don't matter. The movie is free to invent their version of Carol. She can be as brilliant and mature as the script requires.
Blakely was good in the TRAVELING PANTS movies, and funny during her gig on SNL. I'm sure she'll be fine as Carol.
I actually don't care how faithful it is to the comics, the impression I was getting from the conversation was that the film had to be faithful to the comics and that casting this actress wouldn't be that - and to my mind that's not a bad thing, which is what I was trying to (in my cack-handed fashion) point out.
However, for giggles, I would like to see the Guardians still be little blue balding men in dresses..
