I actually wanna see this and I didn't think that I would.

That trailer is one of the worst I've ever seen.

I've heard the film is a hundred times better than the trailer implies, and I still want to see it...but DAMN that trailer sucks.

The trailer was so bad, I lost complete & total interest. The story looks bad, the acting is bad, the jokes are bad and often forced or jsut out of place.

This film does, however, mark the return of Harold Faltermeyer to the Hollywood scoring world. Having completed his score already, Faltermeyer was last seen on a "big" Hollywood film, for "Beverly Hills Cop II", as I recall (Nile Rogers scored the 3rd).

And the Beverly Hills Cop, 80's buddy movie feel is exactly what Kevin Smith was going for in Cop Out. Let's hope he succeeds.

The original title, A Couple of Dicks, was way better, though. However, the title becomes a clever double entendre knowing he was forced to change it.

I find Tracey Morgan to be one of the most annoying "actors" (I use that word loosely for him) I have ever seen in my life! Right there the movie is a failure to me.

I've seen at least two people who have said they saw it at a recent test screening. One was gushing about how great it was and how everyone should see it. The other said it was OK, wasn't the best buddy cop movie he's seen (he said Beverly Hills Cop 2 was his fav) but that it was entertaining and recommended seeing it.

Based on the trailer, I don't think Kevin Smith "Get's it".
Smith is really trying to distance himself from the film. He's made it clear that he was a director-for-hire on this project, and Warners isn't promoting it as a Kevin Smith film.

Yeah, but I saw some stuff on YT in some cases he sounded excited about making a film like this...ofcourse geeks were asking him questions at a comicbook convention...so I guess he needed to sound that way for them.

Kevin Smith's chatter on twitter reminded me of this thread; you couldn't be more wrong.

He's being extremely supportive of the film and as far as it not being promoted as a "Kevin Smith film"... None of his films really are.

Indeed. I just took it that it was kind of a new experience for him to direct a script he had no hand in writing.

I have seen some recent commercials for Cop Out...and it makes this movie look horrible and stupid.

Alot of the Tracy Morgan stuff is annoying.

 This makes me laugh...don't know why???

The red band trailer is a lot better than what can be shown on network TV. I doubt I'll go and see it in the theater, but I will Netflix it just because of the red band trailer.

I may have to actually see a movie at the theater now. The TV trailer was amusing, but the Red Band one made me laugh.
