There is only one non-chain pizza place that's anywhere near my house. I tried it once, but I didn't like it - too much cheese, not enough crust.
To be fair, you could recognize that people are just having a little fun (albeit at your expense) and all around everyone is wearing a smile.
Now THAT's funny. Funniest thing I've heard all week, in fact.
(I would recognize it, actually...if it were true.
)
To be fair? How about fair to people who don't like eating rancid leftovers? (Actually, to *be* fair, I rarely eat breakfast of any kind. Don't get up early enough. But on the occasion that I do, you can be sure it ain't gonna be old expired pizza that isn't even HOT.)
I worked for this chain back in college. I never had to take a lunch since we waited for the buffet stuff to be taken off of the line and back to the kitchen "to be thrown away." We'd jump on that stuff like a pack of starving wolves.
The best thing on their menu was what they called a "ranch pizza." Now, bear with me- I know it sounds gross- which in place of tomato based sauce uses Ranch dressing. Then they top it with bacon bits, onions, tomato and green peppers.
I had the first slice of that heavenly stuff I'd had in 4 years last week. It was the best. Pizza. EVER!
And next time I do find myself with leftover pizza, I'm going to HEAT IT THE FUCK UP. Hear that? It's going to be HOT and COOKED and SAFE and TASTY and not eaten for fucking BREAKFAST.
I don't eat chain pizza. Gross.
What's this? Someone sells tubs of butter with their pizza?
What a world!
Seriously. People are snobs about the weirdest things!
Tell me about it.
Last few responses I got (in summary):Cold breakfast pizza...wah wah wah...if you don't eat it you're a sissy girly-man...wah wah wah...cold, rancid rotten crap is better than real breakfast food like pancakes and waffles and eggs and cereal...wah wah wah...take your food poisoning like a man...wah wah wah...![]()

I've never been a Domino's fan. As I get older, I like the big chains less and less. Little Ceasar's and Pizza Hut will do in a pinch.
I grew up in NYC, so I like non-chain pizzas best. And yes, the best damn pizza in the world was two blocks from my house.![]()
Closest thing to New York style pizza I've had where I live (in Virginia) is Bridges Brick Oven Pizza- but I guess that's a local chain. Their pizzas have very thin crusts, not a lot of sauce, and fresh mozzarella cheese sliced almost paper thin.I used to get pizza like that on Coney Island!
Ledo's is good, too, but the sauce can be a little too sweet.
I loved Godfather's Pizza as a kid, but they're now almost as rare as Arthur Treacher's is for fast seafood!![]()
I seem to recall hearing that Dominos got in shit over that, sued or something by a driver(s?) cause they had tickets and accidents trying to meet the delivery deadline. Or was that a local only thing?I once worked at DOMINOS, years ago...I mean, years ago when if it was 30mins late it was free..and it went on the driver's record!!!!

I am confident that all the speeding we did on the backroads was the direct cause of all the SPEED bumps that are on those very roads now....I remember zooming around that city in my green suped up Pinto very well!!!

Domino's (and most pizza chains, really) has a reputation for being rather scuzzy to its drivers. Not only do drivers get paid below minimum wage (and that $2 "delivery fee" that's tacked on doesn't go to the driver, but back to the store), but they have to fork out for their own gas. The only chain I'm aware of that doesn't do this is the aforementioned Happy Joe's; one of the terms of the franchise agreement stipulates that the owner of the prospective franchise must purchase a fleet of vehicles and furnish them with fuel for drivers.
