Has Anyone Ever Regretted Getting a Cat?

Awww. So cute, soft, and cuddly looking. He's very handsome. I love how their ears seem huge when they're young. Kittens are just so much cuter. I hope you and your husband have a wonderful addition to the family.

He is a cutie. I had one like him before, his name was Clyde. Well we renamed him Clyde, before that he was Blanche, then we found out he was a boy. If he had been a girl, the litter would have been named Rose, Blanche and Dorothy.

Congrats. :) He's darling.

Comet is a cute name. Unless your hubby is set on naming him something else, I vote for keeping the name.

Thanks everyone! :) I posted another picture in the actual picture thread. I told my husband that I really like the name Comet (it's nerdy but still cute) so unless he comes up with something he has to have, we're going to stick with Comet.

Comet doesn't seem to have any separation anxiety and has definitely bonded with both of us already. He's a pretty outgoing kitten, either playing or sleeping on one of us. I walked into my husband's office to check on them and my husband was raiding on his comp in WoW, with Comet sleeping contentedly on his lap. They both looked pretty happy!

Spring for a cheapy laser-pointer (some Wal-Marts sell them in the pet aisle as "Cat toys"), our cats loved chasing the red dot around the room-- of course, keep it on the floor, wall, or ceiling and don't get it the kitty's eyes.

Congrats, Kestra. He's adorable. :adore: And Comet is certainly an appropriate name for a Cat who came home on Christmas.

If I had enough money, and my own place, three homeless kitties I have damn near domesticated at a local park, would be coming with me. You can click on my Photo Album and see a picture of one of them.

It took, total time for each individule cat, about 15 months of love, trust earning, and attention to get each cat, but it worked. Now they run up to me, they love attention, and they even let me rub their bellies. I've taught them to do cute meows, and even puring (none of those seem to come natural to homeless kitties).

The grumpiest one, who used to bite me, and draw blood with the sharp claws, is a fluffy muffin now and even climbs into my lap. But this cat, "Stubs", still whacks other cats away from the food. And attacks them when I give them love and not her. And just attacks them randomly. Basically, whenever Stubs gets a whim. So, maybe I'll regret that, who knows, but I'll still try to find out.

Aww.

I love my cat, although she is now jealous of my netbook and gets in front of it so I'll pet her instead.

When our cats we alive we had a problem on cold days with them curling up around the back of the computer and snugging up against the exhaust vents. I cleaned so much cat hair out of that tower,

I think I'm slightly smitten already. I had my husband do a video chat with me from work today so I could see the kitten.

Also, we're trying to teach him certain things (don't climb on bakers racks and knock all the plates down, don't launch yourself at people's heads, etc.) but I have the sneaking suspicion that he's training us. :shifty:
