Houston becomes the largest city to elect openly gay mayor?

We're never going into TNZ territory here, so don't even think about it. And voicing an opinion, especially in response to questions, is not Trolling. So let's keep the discussion on track, please.

I thought he was joking when he said that anyway.

Why don't you bring this stuff to TNZ and find out?

What, in your opinion, would be the difference in discussing this or any other subject here or there?

Besides, one day I opened this site and *poof* TNZ didn't appear. No idea why.

The difference is, in Misc people get warned for calling you out on your bigotry, which of course is what your goal is, in TNZ you'd hear what people really think.

There's a way to speak to someone in ANY forum. If you can't do that then you can't communicate your thoughts very well.

Feel free to pm me though if there's something you feel you can't effectively say here.

Oh I don't care, I know you're merely a troll and not worthy of any substantive attention.

It's just that other people may not have such supernatural self-restraint as I do. ;)

As for the actual topic at hand: good for Houston to join the rest of us in the 21st century :techman:

I guess that the mayors of both Berlin (Klaus Wowereit, Social Democrat - SPD) and Hamburg (Ole von Beust, Christian Democrat - CDU) would agree with me. ;)

The people of Paris who elected and re-elected a gay mayor (Bertrand Delanoë - socialist...horror, nearly, communist  ) also welcome Houston in the 21st century :techman:

Allo Houston ? Nous vous entendons parfaitement !
Just to throw in, the current Governor of Apulia, Nichi Vendola, is a hard-core communist and a gay activist. Turns out he is also one of the most appreciated and supported. In the last administration we also had a bisexual Minister for Environment, Alfonso Pecoraro Scanio. :techman:

No, I'm a person who has a right to voice their opinion. At least where I'm from that's a good thing.

But feel free to continue to name call. Doesn't bother me in the least.

"Name calling"? You're the one who's throwing around insults, as you are well aware.

Ah, so having a different opinion means I am name calling. But you actually calling me a silly internet insult is not. Got it.

What is the problem with simply agreeing to disagree without the attacks? It's not personal for me at all.

Your opinion counters fact and reality. It demeans and insults.

I just think it's an amusing double standard. If I had posted in one of the Obama-election threads in Misc that I don't vote for black people on principle because member of inferior races have no business representing the people (which just to be clear is 180° different of my actual opinion), I'd like to see what the reaction would've been. But calling homosexuals diseased and an "abomination" is perfectly ok. Alright...

No one called any person an abomination. If you don't like what the Bible says regarding homosexual behavior , not the person, then feel free not to read it and to voice your opinion. But at least be honest with regard to what's being said.

So let me clarify. I do not think ANY homosexual person is an abomination. Do I think there is a psychological component to homosexuality? Yes, I do. Did someone say they are diseased? No, I don't think they did.

Who cares what the bible says. If I start quoting Mein Kampf people are going to feel offended too. The fact someone sometime ago wrote something down doesn't make it ok.

People with a set moral standard care.

But dude, feel free to write whatever you want. I assume you also have free speech in Vienna?
