Does Anyone Go to Strip Clubs?

What is your take on these institutions? Waste of money? Waste of time? Harmless fun? Good investment?

Males and females reply. I haven't been to one since college. But I have had some very interesting experiences in these wonderul establishments of morality.

I use to go when I turned 21...it was fun at the time. I think it is a waist though if you are looking to get something out of it other than drinking and being entertained.

Complete waste of money.

That said, I think I paid a semester's worth of tuition for a few dancers at the Olympic Gardens in Vegas during my there in November.

I don't go. Don't particularly care about their existence (I'm not "against" them or anything like that), I just have a lot better things to do with my hard earned cash.

Harmless fun, if you find it fun. I haven't been to a club since 1999, and at that time I found it mildly embarrassing and annoying - basically a bunch of us were taken there by a boss to "celebrate" a milestone, we were theoretically on the clock and uncomfortably aware that we were probably being encouraged to violate all kinds of employment policy in that particular situation. The girls were attractive, but it's not as if there's any shortage of sexual expression of all kinds in American culture now...back when I was in school and went to these places, they were somewhat more exotic and sub rosa kinds of places. Used to have live music, too.

I guess I just don't see the point, myself. Once you leave, you have nothing to show for it, but you are out however much money you spent. And the girls will forget you ever existed. So why bother?

I use to hang out with some girls afterwards...but they were friends anyway...one worked with me at Sam's Club...she was a manager at the time...good times.

I live in New Orleans... so they are redundant IMO and I've never been in one.

So you don't subscribe to cable TV, go to live concerts, go to the movies or theater, eat out, or do other things where you have nothing to show for it, however much money you spent?

^ You know what I mean. :p

As for the other things you mentioned:

- Subscribe to cable TV? Yes, because it has programming I need. That's what I get out of that.

- Go to live concerts? Yes, because it's the only way to see my favorite bands. And I get the satisfaction of that.

- Eat out? I sure do get something out of that - FOOD. ;)

But at a strip club? I can look at hot babes for free on the 'net, or in any number of movies I already own on DVD. Don't have to spend any more money.

I very highly doubt you NEED anything on cable TV or to go to any live concerts. After all, you can get more or less the same experiences from free broadcast TV or through MP3 downloads, Pandora and other free, legit sources of music on the internet or buying CDs that you get to keep forever.

See how ridiculous that sounds? What makes you think some people can't get satisfaction out of going to strip clubs the same way you get satisfaction out of the things above? Not saying strip clubs are everyone's cup of tea, but the basic principle's exactly the same as what you described for the things you like to do--they do it because it's a form of entertainment.

I haven't been to one since college either. Back then it was more about something to do when you were out with the guys and drunk and you needed some place to pass the time. I was never really the kind of guy who could get into strip clubs. I was very socially anxious and a virgin so being around pretty women kind of brought up issues with me. I suppose if you are the kind of guy who could enjoy it for what it is and you have the money to blow it is harmless fun. I can't see myself ever going to one again though. Even if I didn't have a girlfriend I think you could get a lot more mileage just "staying home".

Full contact lapdance is nice...they are rubbing all over you you get to rub them a little. Back in the day, this one stripper wanted my friend to smack her ass hard...even the security guy was telling him to do it...it was a funny scene.

I never cared for the lapdance much. It felt like paying the hot girl in high school to tease you for awhile. I do have kind of fond memories of a rather surprising fully-nude one where the girl said I could touch her "anywhere". Being shy I used to be uncomfortable with that kind of thing though. Believe it or not I would tell strippers not to lapdance me, but just sit on my lap because I liked just being close to a girl.:sigh:

I use to do the same thing...I would tell them..."can I just hold you?" and they were more than happy...alot of times during the lapdance me an this one girl I liked alot would just talk while I held her...it was nice.

I've been to one, and the girls could sense how uncomfortable I was ( gay guy in a straight club). They took it on as some sort of mission to make me, uh, enjoy the free dances they threw my way.

Not even sure we have them here in Italy, but they don't appeal much to me. I love watching half-naked girls shaking their ass as the next straight guy, but I don't think they are my kind of thing.
