Blue Warp Nacelles?

That reminds me, I hope the Abramsverse corrects this one detail too. I simply refuse to accept that baseball no longer exists (at the major league level, anyway) in Trek's time. And not only that, but the same reason supposedly applies there as to why they don't use money anymore - because humans are more 'Evolved' and don't get into competition/team sports anymore!! Linky   What kind of wishy washy bullshit is THAT? Anyway, even if it's only mentioned in one or two lines, I hope subsequent Abrams films will simply ignore that bit.

At least the novels have brought it back, the sport has been revived (on Cestus III). So we got that goin' for us. :techman:

Another fun fact: In Trek XI, the Delta Vega ice planet scenes were filmed in the parking lot of Dodger Stadium...

I think most people knew that last bit already. It was on the news while filming was still underway, and we saw the clips here.

I would like it, however, if baseball didn't keep invading other threads all the time. I get it -- you're an avid fan -- we all get it, and I do note that you didn't introduce the subject yourself here, but waaay too many threads not originally about the subject keep becoming about baseball when you're participating in them, in this forum and in others. Exercise some restraint, eh? (And I don't need to go into what may happen if mentions of Katz's Deli, how awesome New York City is or the Bleacher Creatures get shoehorned in inappropriately, do I?

I didn't think so. ;) )

^ Why are you lecturing ME on being off topic, given that no one has talked about actual blue warp nacelles for a very long time in this thread?

And I didn't know about the Dodger Stadium bit.

To be fair, I didn't know anything about this either....but then again, I live in the middle of fly over country in the iceberg known as Iowa, so we rarely see any interesting news here anyway. ;)

Here's a TrekMovie article from February 2008 which talked about location filming of Delta Vega and drilling platform scenes in the Police Academy (LAPD) parking lot adjacent to Dodger Stadium. Basically, a news chopper spotted it and shot some video.

Someone also managed to get still photos of John Cho and one of the Romulans doing the fight scene.

Wow. Thanks alot M. I guess I missed a few things before I found my way back last fall. ;) Probably a good thing though. STAR TREK was the first Trek movie in a long time I got to see spoiler free. But it's still pretty cool to see stuff like that.

:guffaw:

Thanks Eddie. :techman:

How 'bout this......Dr Milf and the Blue Nacelles?

Nah, sounds less like a show and more like a punk band.

Or a Seattle band from the last decade that was at Woodstock '99 and slammed The Establishment.
