OMG you guys are relentless!

And Ghosty, consider yourself smacked upside the head for that last comment!

Hehe, "restraining order"

Would this be a bad time for a word pun about "Yeoman randy"?

You know what? It JUST dawned on me....your ID Mr Laser Beam......the initials are MLB----major league baseball..

Ok, did you do that on purpose or is it just an incredible coincidence??? (do i need to smack myself in the forehead and go "DUH!")

Believe it or not, it is indeed a coincidence. I've been using this username since I joined this board in '02 (for awhile I changed to Babaganoosh but I've since switched back). But I haven't been a serious baseball fanatic until more recently, like '07.

I just have never been able to get into baseball. Sorry. I know its the great American pastime...I'm a self-avowed patriot and Republican and all that jazz. But seriously, aside from trying to follow some Braves and Orioles games and seasons over the years my interest in baseball is probably the most limited of any major sport in this country. Easily.

Damn cooleddie, I could have written that post.:lol:The only baseball I've ever been able to follow has been my son's high school team. Even that took a little effort. ;)

I've never really even been able to PLAY it much without getting bored. I've played in my share of baseball and softball games in and out of school and with friends growing up, but i always got stuck in outfield and was never the fastest nor most nimble runner...so whenever a fly ball went to the fence or over it I always took the heat for not playing well enough.

Baseball grew old and tiresome QUICK.

That is just too funny. IF I played in a pick up game or whatever, it was in the outfield, because I didn't have a stinkin clue as to what was going on in the infield. It was pretty sad that I had to learn how the game was really played by following my daughter's first 10 and under ASA softball team a few years back.

The balls always seemed to get hit in MY direction. Always. A friend in jr. high gym class once got mad at me for not being fast enough to get the ball and throw it back to base and he smacked me in the side with it and said "you suck, Eddie! You cant play this game worth shit!"

You're killin me here. Good thing no one is around right know, or I'd be busted for laughing out loud. That description just reminded me of a King Of The Hill ep where Bobby makes the team, but the other team realizes that he couldn't catch a cold...on a good day. So every at bat was his directly towards him.

My biggest problem wasn't so much getting to the ball (the few times I played), but was more knowing what base I was supposed to throw it to. "DUDE! That should have been a single. He stole second. Why the hell'd ya through it home?!"
