This idea makes no sense at all. Besides the thing about Mitchell not knowing about the 1969 mission seems to have been forgotten. In Continuum he knew about solar flares being used to make Stargates time machines, which was learned from the 1969 mission. Hell, everyone from John Sheppard to Dr. Rush knows about the 1969 mission, so it's just weird Mitchell wouldn't.
IIRC, it wasn't that he didn't know about 1969, it's that there was an addendum to the mission report that was kept from him, detailing that O'Neill got it on in the past. Of course, considering they were just yanking his chain...
Full Circle was a a perfect series finale
I agree with this. When the episode first aired, I was wondering what direction they were going to go in the next season as I assumed Anbuis was defeated and most of the threads were fairly wrapped up.Lost City (with a couple of tweaks) was a good series finale
I didn't mind "Moebius". Mostly because stuff was wrapped up. "Threads" would have been a good finale if they wanted to go out on a story-arc episode. The "Wonderful Life" aspect of "Moebius" was fun to see, though I admit, it can be a bit of a cliche when it comes to series endings.Moebius was an awful boring waste of time
"Unending" wasn't so bad on its own merits. However, it did stick out like a sore thumb considering the show was building towards something with the Ori arc. Even though I expressed criticisms of "Full Circle" earlier, something along those lines probably would have been better. Then again, from what I read TPTB were pressed for time to come up with a finale.and the less said about the garbage 'Unending' the better.

No, he didn't actually know about the 1969 mission itself. Mitchell gives the number of how many SG missions there have been over the years, Carter corrects him saying there's one more. Mitchell reminds her he's been reading over them the past year or so, and so Carter informs him that the 1969 mission was kept a secret even from him, leading her, Daniel and Vala making cracks implying O'Neill was Mitchell's father.

Actually Carter said there was one more and they weren't allowed to tell him, then Vala asked and they joked about it being that during the1969 mission (not the 1969 mission itself which Mitchell sounded like he knew about) That Jack was Mitchell's father. Then after Daniel and Carter pointed out that they were joking they said they still couldn't tell Mitchell about what the mission he didn't know about was.
^ I remember reading some fan theories that the secret mission concerned the events from "Foothold".
Just re-watched it and it looked more to me like Mitchell knew about the time they went back to 1969, and was only shocked when Daniel noted that he was born exactly 9 months after that incident.Well, the way the scene is done makes it seem that the 1969 mission is the one that's classified to him. In fact, the bio about him on his action figure package says he's read all the SG mission reports except for "one mission in 1969" or something to that effect.
I like open ended TV show, what is there to close up in SG-1?
We never met the Furlings.
Never saw the 'result' of 100 days.
...
That's just two off the top of my head at 10pm when I'm usually in bed. I'm sure there's lots more and many places the story could go.
Universe is a failure, it's that simple.
The ratings have been all over the map, with 'Justice' the lowest rated episode of the series. Deniers will claim that this is because it aired against 'Monk,' but if SGU is trying for the same audience as 'Monk' was, it's in deep trouble.
The critical reviews I read were pretty tepid, if cautiously optimistic. I haven't seen any critical attention since the premiere. The AV Club never picked it up, which is a shame, since I was hoping they'd savage it.
It'll probably be picked up for a second season, though. It's still fairing better than Atlantis, and I've read online (with all the veracity that brings) that Brad Wright has a two year contract for the show.
